*sigh* I've just been WILLING the waitlist to start moving. Doesn't seem to be helping though. Still a little early though-they have an admitted students open house on June 10th according to posters on LSD, so hopefully it will start to open up around then.
How long are you willing to stay on the waitlist? Up until orientation, or will you withdraw at some point?

Does anybody have any news regarding the UNC Waitlist?

I think someone posted here that there was another seat deposit deadline on May 13th (no, not a SECOND seat deposit, a first seat deposit, but it was like the 4th or 5th deadline I've seen.)
I don't know if they have officially gone to the waitlist yet...it seems like they are filling specific holes in thier class profile right now, and its hard to tell if they are late admits or waitlisters.

All this being said, there MUST be something else going on.
It's already been discussed in other threads, but the Assistant Dean of admissions went through the season without a deputy, they have also lost thier Dean and one of thier Assistant Deans this semester. It's not an excuse, but it seems reasonable to expect that these changes have had an impact on the admissions season.

I got my waitlist letter middle of last month....
If you guys are so displeased with their admissions office and process, do me a favor and withdraw your application so people that would love to go there, slow admission or not, will be admitted

Hmmm...as a taxpayer in this state, I'm perfectly fine with thier 75% in-state admissions guidelines. They only admit 18% out-of-state undergrads, and they are the 5th best public school in the country. So I don't think UNCs reputation is suffering because of that limitation, at any level including the Law School.

I got my waitlist notice back in mid-March. If you look at LSN, there seems to be a little movement with regards to notifications. Though there have been a few acceptances, it is mostly WL and rejections at this point.

There have been a few off the waitlist and one late admit that I know of from this board and LSN. One person said thier seat deposit deadline was April 22. I think it's likely that things will stay kind of static for awhile.

Well, I'm ready to make this the official UNC waitlister thread. Looks like some people got admitted off the waitlist right after the second seat deposit deadline April 15th. Good luck!
