Wait List / Waitlists and Federal Fin Aid
« on: April 07, 2005, 05:06:46 AM »
I realize that being on a waitlist for a school means that if I'm lucky enough to get in it will be without a scholarship.  However, if I were to be admitted off a waitlist in, say, July, would I be able to get my Perkins/Stafford loans at that school?  I'm guessing the answer is yes, since its they are based on gov't standards, but I wanted to check to see if anyone knows for sure.  Thanks!

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Grade Curves
« on: April 07, 2005, 04:56:35 AM »
WUSTL doesn't use letter grades, they just use percentages.  A couple of years ago they made their curve more generous and set it to an 87%, so basically a B+ for their 1Ls.  For 2 and 3Ls it varies depending on the class, but generally it looks to be set somewhere between an 85 and an 87 for most classes.

Acceptances / WUSTL $ ?
« on: March 29, 2005, 10:43:53 PM »
Hey, I just got my acceptance e-mail from WUSTL on Friday, and I was wondering how long it took others to find out about financial aid after receiving their decision from them....unless I get some sort of dream acceptance from Northwestern or Penn I'm really leaning toward WUSTL, but I'm nervous about the price tag.

I'm definitely taking my dog with me.  That being said, my best friend had two dogs living with him his 2L year--a senior citizen terrier and a puppy.  The senior did very well, but the puppy to this day is the most poorly behaved dog I've ever known, and I attribute it to him just not getting the attention he needed.
