I'm a 1L in my 3rd week of full schedule. My school is a good local school with a solid reputation and great alumni base. It ranks mid T2. However, I want to transfer (within the same city - NYC) for prestige, mobility of degree after a few years and more options. I don't find the work "easy" nor am I one of the smartest kids in class. I was wondering if just based on this I should forget about transferring.
I picked a school that I knew I would attend happily for three years if transferring didn't pan out. I just wanted some feedback from how successful transfers felt their 1L year.
Its a really good school if you want to work/practice in Texas. Its very conservative I've heard and it goes on the quarter system. Also, Waco is pretty boring but it has all the stuff you'd need...not like you have time for fun anyways.
Actually Andrea has been who I've pretty much corresponded with throughout this, I talkd to her yesterday and she gave me the waitlist lowdown (you know the drill). I'd still love to go there, but I've pretty much given up. I'll give them a call tommorrow though for sport.

Well, I reached big and it didn't work, which is fine...but most applicants have a great PS, ECs and W/E. Also, I was always confused about my URM status, but I found out I was non-URM.
Another thing I learned is to treat WLs as soft rejections.
But this is just my experience, I think its diff for everyone.
