I wanted to clear up an earlier UNC post. I just talked to the girl at the UNC admissions office--who is really nice--and she said that the dean will be calling all accepted students by the end of the day on Friday (she said it might go into the evening). Make sure they have you're correct phone number. If you don't get a call from the dean by late on Friday, you'red either WLed or rejected and those letters won't go out until late April. Good luck everybody...

I think will and mary esp is in for a rude awakening this yr...based on the interest level on here, they just aren't as a hot a school as they used to be....

Finally! Blessed be the Lord! Someone with more than my 6: BC, WUSTL, Emory, Wake, Bill and Meg, wash and Lee...
Let me take a wild guess: do you have an interruption in your education or something else weird in your app? I'm hoping maybe they're waiting to see my senior grades. Anyway, I still have 6 pending and I expect to catch up to your 8 within the next week....congrats, I humbly pass the WL crown over to you.....

Dear School X,
After careful consideration of your offer of admission and weighing each aspect of your school, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to accept your offer of admission for the fall of 2005. As you know, I am a very competitive applicant this year and have had over thirty offers for seats for only one body I ultimately have to fill any of them. I have been forced to make many tough decisions this year and turn down a number of schools I feel would have been qualified to educate me and unfortunately you are among them. I wish your school continued success in its academic pursuit.
I am actually sending this. Why shouldn't these schools have a taste of what it feels like???

no, those are the #s from LSN...based on this whole deal, I think I'd have a hard time "making the case for carolina law," though it might be fun to get into one of john edwards classes and try to bust his balls about losing...OK, not that I'd really have the nerve to, but I WOULD sit and think about doing it a lot....

Well, got rejected over the phone yesterday by Boalt, so two in two days. 164, 3.7, non-urm, out of state. This one's weird. I'd like to think it's a YP, but I know better. I assume the committee had a problem with my little glum, glum, vroom, vroom, smash, smash...oh well....anyone who's pending and wants to know, go ahead and call and the chick will give it to you over the phone if you ask....

Think about it: applcants are down a few percentage points from last yr. Since LSAC is so easy to do and fee waivers are on the rise (b/c the more apps, the higher the sectivity, the better the ranking) people are applying to a
sh-tload more schools. Could it be that Christmas is going to come late this yr for those of us languishing on T-20 waitlists? Anyone heard any prliminary reports? Guess we'll start knowing in late April.
Remember that, up to a point, the lower ranked the school you're WLed at, the longer you're going to wait b/c it's a trickle down effect. A place opens up at Harvard from the WL. Person X withdraws from NYU and enrolls there. This leaves open a place at NYU, so person Y drops Duke and goes to NYU. A spot opens at Duke, person Z drops Vanderbilt and takes Duke....ad infinitum

Well, we all know the deal. It's the Harvard/Yale/Stanford people who have to get their asses in gear and make their minds up. It's a trickle down effect from there....

Don't get this one. I have a 165, 3.67. Colorado received 10% fewer apps than last yr. I've had my app in since Jan 5th. They just took a bath in the ratings this yr. So, why are they still holding out on me? They are, of course, the school that famously claims to "make decisions through the end of May..." Now that I think about it, are those people on Dust? Are people supposed to eat the money they'd lose on a first AND second desposit in order to wait for Colorado's decision? Stupid. No wonder they're a school in decline...

OK, these people had said they'd have everything done by april 1. Tommorrow is the 29th and it looks like they've only accepted 35 and have over 130+ pending . How are they going to make all these deicisons so quickly? Are they going to just go past they're deadline???
