Choosing the Right Law School / US News Ranking - Explain Please
« on: May 03, 2005, 08:17:47 AM »
Can someone help explain to me the rankings?

For instance, I don't understand why some schools have a low acceptance rate, decent GPA range, decent LSAT range, decent employment rate, are still in Tier 3 or Tier 4?

I was accepted to several Tier 2 Schools but waitlisted from a Tier 4 school.  Hahahaha..

I have never written a letter to withdraw. Any suggestions of what to put in it?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Baltimore

I was accepted to Baltimore FT program.  I am going to withdraw.  Best of luck.

Everyone Else -

I don't understand all of this hull-a-ba-loo about the ranking.  U of B #'s look pretty good - acceptance/gpa - and their programs look attractive as well. According to US News - they accepted only 31% this year.

Can Anyone enlighten me?

I don't understand why it is in US News 4th Tier?

I emailed Hofstra and they replied that they will start to revisit the waitlist in June.

Just wanted to share this info.

Do you want to eventually work in NY or the NE?

I am really struggling with where to go to be honest. It is irritating me.

I'll see..I am planning on visiting Syracuse let's see how it goes.

You liked Syracuse?  What were your thoughts about the student body? Alumni and the aloof professors that I have read?

i got a laptop w/ a 15 inch monitor...and no floppy drive.

do u think it is a problem?

I was accepted to Syracuse and most likely will attend.  I just ordered a ThinkPad and I am praying that if there is a req. that I don't need to cancel and reorder.  So if anyone can tell me asap, I would greatly appreciate it!

I wouldn't be freaking, but I just ordered it and still can cancel/edit it.

Thanks! :D
