Law School Rankings / Re: What schools are underrated by US News?

I don't know if this will be of any use to you.  My opinion is this.  Since neither school is one of the top 20 law schools, it will be harder to leave the area.  However, not impossible.  You may have to work locally for a few years and then move.  This is the thing, there are 189 law schools in the US, I cannot imagine that the only people who have flexibility in relocating are those who went to the top 20.  So, go to the school that will give you the best bang for your buck and leave you with the most options open at graduation.

Kilroy -

I think so too.  My dilemma is this : the 2 schools i am considering are completely opposite.  One is a Tier 2 and one is a firm Tier 3.

Tier 3 - very supportive
Tier 2 - no such the case.

Thanks for your words though.

the open door policy of professors/deans/administration?

is this just nice to have or something that should be heavily considered?

So it is May 17th and I still haven't heard from St. John's.  This is the last school I need to hear from. I went to the admissions office today and well they weren't much help either.  They said my file is still under review.  Should I just give up?

Suggestions?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Hofstra in New York?
« on: May 17, 2005, 07:50:32 PM »
My mother's friend teaches at Hofstra Law and according to him - it is a great environment.  The student/faculty are supportive and it doesn't have that unhealthy environment that many of the top schools have.

Best of luck to everyone who attends there.
