Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: In at Villanova

I am jewish so I was worried about Villanova if I get in. But I am also a grad student getting my masters in Philly and they have this jewish grad student organizaiton for all ova philly. Everytime I went to an event there were a bunch of guys from Villanova Law.  They were also the cutest ones of any of the law schools (but that's besides the point  ;) ) So I know there is a population there.  The crosses do kinda scare me tho, but I have to wait and see if I even get in. I called and they told me I would hear within the month  :(

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: "Alternate" at Miami

I think that sometimes sports teams actually do help a school's reputation.  I know it sounds silly and I thought it was until my boyfriend's sister started to apply to college.  When we (my boyfriend and I) applied he went to UVA and virginia tech was considered below it. NOw his sister applied there and got waitlisted becasue with Micheal Vick and their football team it has drawn more peole to apply, making it more competitive, making the rankings go up.  Maybe this happened with MIami? I don't know. Just a thought that's totally off topic.

I'm on the normal waitlist. Mine didn't say that. That sounds positive.  I'm jealous  ;)

I called up there yesterday and they said that a whole batch of decisions should be going out either late this week or early next week.

Actually I haven't received any decision from them.  I didn't want to call again because I have been in committee for 3 months...  What is taking them so long?  Does anyone think the new ranking will have any affect on the waitlist or even the last batch of decisions?

I am in the exact same boat. I haven't heard anything at all and have been in committee for three months.  I stopped calling a few weeks ago cause I didn't want to be a pest. But i can't imagine what is taking so long.

Villanova. But if I don't get in there,  however, I am on a bunch of waitlists and I would take any of them right now.  I sent in my deposit tho to somewhere else so worse comes to worse I will go there and i'll be fine and happy. I am tired of this process. Just Villanova is the last one that I have left to hear anyting from so I am actually really curious about them.

Hi. well i just got a letter that i'm an alternate.  So moved from hold to the waitlist.  Do anyone know if everyone on hold automatically goes to waitlist or do they sometimes except and reject after being on hold.  Just curious cause i feel like anyone on hold went to waitlist.  ;)
