Where should I go next fall? / Re: Let's stop looking ahead to LS and look at this summer first« on: April 12, 2006, 06:09:34 PM »
ok, first, as posted before, this is pretty funny - http://jeremyblachman.blogspot.com/2004_05_01_jeremyblachman_archive.html#108456882920132609
i really like the "diary of an exam" part this summer, i will be: graduating, finding some part-time job so i don't start law school completely broke, spending a week or two in new orleans volunteering, spending a month at the beach, and a week in las vegas. it's gonna be an awesome possibly relaxing summer! 13

Ahh, I feel the exact same way as you. I check the mailbox every day and...nothing, nothing, and nothing, except for some brochures on home-buying, too bad I'm not trying to buy a home hhaha

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: UF visit 4/7« on: April 10, 2006, 11:49:01 PM »I cant remember what the housing area nearby the law school looked like. Is it a nice area? I remember driving down a couple streets north of the university and they werent too pretty. So the area aruond the law school is nice?the area is ok, some cute houses, some normal looking houses..pretty much all college kids...not really the "student ghetto" like off of university behind the bars though (not that theres much of a difference, its all college kids in houses) there is a little neighborhood called golfview estates i think (overlooking the uf golf course) off of sw 2nd..but it would prob be hard to find a house to rent in there 15

yeah, stick with somewhere right around the law school off of sw 2nd..or you could go across that onto university..but basically in the little nook between 34th street, sw 2nd, and university. you'd be able to walk to the law school from there.

Acceptances / Re: Maryland or Catholic?« on: April 07, 2006, 06:41:13 PM »
i dont think the no on campus housing is a problem- but, i wouldn't want to live around there. the campus itself is ok but..just don't get off the metro and go right. i think it would be scary walking alone at night even though its like a block to the metro. and the chapel is interesting..maybe some students want to pray before exams? :-)

as for scholarships for the second year, some schools (i don't know how many but a few of them i have looked at) base it primarily on rank. but, this also means that, if you don't get a scholarship your first year, but work to get in the top 5-25% of the class, you could get a partial scholarship for your second year. not too shabby for those of us who aren't getting scholarships now!
