I got into HLS with a 176 and a 3.5 (LSDAS reported it as a 3.33 b/c of bridge credits) at a TTT. I think the fact that I am 6 years out of school really helped.. my gpa seemed less relevant. I don't think that can be accomplished in 1-2 years though, but if you don't get in where you want and really, really want to go to a top school, taking some time off has many benefits. If you feel burned out of school, time off can help you get the desire to learn back.
