I decided to visit WUSTL and St. Louis U over my spring break this week.  I'm in at SLU w/ $66,000 and I'm still waiting to hear from Wash U.  I took a tour of both schools, and the odds are good that I'm going to end up at SLU.  Anyway, the real reason for this story...
I met w/ the Dean of Admissions at WUSTL.  The topic of scholarships came up, and how they award them.  She came right out and said, they look at your GPA and LSAT on a matrix, and give you the award based on where you fall.  Regardless of special circumstances.  Regardless of your undergraduate institution.
I was amazed at how open she was with this information.  Of course, she also told me that for a $25,000 difference in tuition, she'd be at slu without question.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: In at Case with $$

I sent my app in mid December, and called in mid February wondering what happened b/c they never sent me a confirmation email.  i called them, and the lady said they never got my app.  she emailed me about 5 hours later saying that they had it.  i've heard both on the undergrad and grad levels that communication at case is poor.

Most of these schools have been around long enough that they play the odds.  They'll offer too many scholarships, "knowing" that only a certain percentage will be excepted.  If fewer are accepted, they'll save the $$ for a year when too many are accepted.

Where can I check my app status? ???

I still haven't gotten an acceptance, and they've had my app since dec 10th.  this is ridiculous.

I loved the Case campus when I went to visit.  Plus, I think they'll give me money.  Plus, I like Cleveland better than Pittsburgh (my 2nd choice).  Plus, my fiancee's company has an office in Cleveland so she can transfer.
They've had my app since mid December.  I wonder if I should call tomorrow.

So for the app "rec'd" date, is that the day they emailed you to say they had received your app?

I sent mine December 28th. They never emailed to say they received it, but I emailed them about 2 weeks ago to ask.  They lost it.  Then found it.  I'm hoping to hear like...  now...

For those of you who have been accepted, when did you send out your app/ when did they receive it?

and for those of you who don't want the t-shirt, send it my way! ;)

I don't know what other schools you applied to.  and I don't know Syracuse's reputation.  but I did visit there in high school.  The campus is awesome.  The city was sweet.  I'd keep hoping for that.
