Choosing the Right Law School / Re: William and Mary

As a life long residence of Virginia, and frequent visitor to Williamsburg I have learned a few things, you either love it or hate it.  Tourist season sucks, because people are wandering all over looking at buildings built in the 1920s, but they think they were built in the 1730s.  Most W&M grads i know love the place.  The reputation for study is deserved.  They do a lot of work, but they also know how to cut loose and have a good time.  I have met some very wonderful people from there, and they all love it.  You are pretty much set, in the state of Virginia at least, with a law degree from W&M.  And that is a pretty damn good thing.

I got a postcard in the mail about a month ago that said it will be after March 15th before all notices are sent out, due to their mad increase in apps.  So you will have over a week till then.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Which One? LSU, Loyola , Tulane?

Yeah it was back in '94, but it is still something that you should know.  Since it has only been a few years since things have been "fixed."  I came away with a bad impression of LSU, but I encourage you to take your own visit and see for yourself.  It is the only way you will know.

My only problem with LSU, I was accepted there last year, is that many students dislike the atmosphere.  When i went down there, many complained and said it was not very student friendly.  Also, i don't know if you are aware, but LSU only recently regained its ABA status.  They had some problems in the past, and are trying to remedy the situation.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Penn State Dickinson?

I wouldn't mind practicing in PA.  I like the state, and I have many friends who live in the state, but most of them live in Philadelphia.  Thanks for your info!  I might see you there in the fall!

Its bad.  The longer you wait, the less chance you have been accepted.  Law schools with rolling admissions obviously take the cream of the crop right away.  I went through this last year when i was applying, I got my final rejection letter in July.  I chose to go to grad school for a year instead.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Best Law School - everyone's opinion

First of all, Penn State Dickinson is the 5th oldest law school in the country.  It was founded in 1834 as Dickinson College of Law.  It abopted the Penn State formally in 2000.  The issue of the two campuses has been resolved by the institutions.  There will be two campuses, one in Carlisle and one at College Station.  They will both be under one dean, and one board of regents.  Penn State has agreed not to move the Carlisle campus for at least 10 years, and they will fund massive renovations to the Carlisle campus.

I am not sure.  I was just accepted to Penn State, and I know so very little about it!

Choosing the Right Law School / Penn State Dickinson?

I was just accepted to Penn State Dickinson.  Now, I hate living in large cities, so that does not bother me, but I know very little about Dickinson since I live outside of PA.  Can anyone give me some details about the school?  I will be visiting soon, so I will see it for myself.  Any thing anyone can say about it would be great!  Thanks!
