Hippie,

I had similar numbers, applied the 3rd week of Feb, and took the Feb 12th LSAT.  I received my acceptance email on Good Friday, and then my scholarship email the following Monday.  So hang in there.

BTW is that a backhanded shocker?

This is common of those who applied late.  For some reason, they took a whole block of highly qualified applicants, who all applied in November, but who did not apply early-decision, and put them all on hold. Perhaps they were afraid we were blanket-applying because their app was free (as a safety) and wouldn't come.  For many, I suppose that would be accurate, but I really do like Case best. oh, well.  I'll give them another week or two, and then I'm out.

May! I'd like to plan my life more than three months in advance, thank you very much!

Hippie Law Chick, I would take your lack of hold status as a positive sign, especially if you DIDN'T apply early.  This is just based on obsessing over LSN.

I wrote an email last week asking a few questions, and it was a completely friendly email (not even asking anything about hold status, etc) and I got a really curt reply back.  Doesn't look good!

It seems like Case likes playing games...  I really don't like their approach in dealing with incoming students.

How so?  They're not doing anything different from any other school.  They're trying to entice their favorite candidates through scholarship money.  Of course, they want to give as little as needed to convince a person to attend.  That's obvious because it would leave them with more money to offer to other good people.  The more they can spread it around the better, I say.

No, they really are doing things differently than other schools.  I think they made some miscalculations... I don't think they meant to be so awful.

This is an honestly true story!

Those little suckers, out of confusion? fear? opportunistic violence? then beat me up, in an effort to wake me! They beat me with those little tiny chairs that they use to sit at the little tiny tables. I was unconscious for a while, maybe half an hour, and it totally turned into lord of the flies! None of them went for help at the main daycare, twenty yards outside the door.

The fun stopped when the first parent arrived to pick up her kid.

:D :D :D Is is bad to laugh at that?--I would love to know what ran through the first parent's head when they saw this scene.

No, it's totally laughable.  I was pretty bruised up-really bad actually!  But that's all.  The worst thing was that my boss was fired for leaving me (under 18) alone with them all afternoon.  I didn't like her much, but I still felt sorry for her.

I would like to see a video of that half hour... just for the whole sociology of it.

This is an honestly true story!

When I was in high school I worked in a preschool afterschool.  I also had this health problem that made me pass out once in a while.  One day I was (illegally) in charge of the whole class with no adult help.  The class was held in one of those "module" buildings that they add to school campuses out here when the student body outgrows the building.  Anyway, we were isolated, and I passed out.

Those cute little kids man, they can be fierce! And the weird thing was, I was think I was their favorite "teacher"... Five year olds, heck I can't even take on a room full of three & four year olds.... Well not unconscious anyway.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Toledo
« on: April 16, 2005, 10:59:21 PM »
Is anyone seriously considering Toledo as a prospect? I just sent them my deposit 2 weeks ago, but I am still waiting to hear from several schools. I would love to discuss this school with anyone interested...

Any thoughts on the high attrition rate and out-of-state opportunities?

You'll notice that 2 out of 3 of the attrition points are for "other."  I've always heard this means "transferred to a higher ranked school."  That can be good or bad, I guess.  Good that it doesn't sound like Toledo puts a lot of roadblocks in your way if you choose to go to a higher ranked school, which I hear is a problem at a lot of schools.  Or, bad, in that a lot of the best students want to leave.

I also sent my deposit.  I have a PT evening division seat waiting for me.

"Other" includes everyone who wasn't kicked out for bad grades.  That means people who transferred, just gave up, decided to take some time off to have a baby, anything.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Third Tier Toilets...

So anyway, all that "or are you conceding the point" crap aside,

If a third tier school is a third tier toilet, what does that make a fourth tier school?

And is there a special fifth tier for non-accred or state-accred schools? If so, what would you call that?

9/10

MST 3000 is very funny.

A similar format is used on ESPN's "Cheap Seats".

By the way, you posted after me without rating. Please rate.

Sorry.  How about a an 8, just because I think a cool mustache like that gives a certain amount of authority to a person.

two different people called and asked this question, and the person whoa nswered said no.  I called anyway and asked the same question and the person who answered said "probably not" and when pressed she said something to the effect of "well it isn't impossible that you would get SOMETHING".
