My SO's car got broken into last weekend (second time in a month), so I went around my block to tell our neighbors to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
I was telling this old guy about the break ins, and he responded with, "well, there's a colored family a block over, why don't you talk to them" I was so shocked, all I could say was, "why would you say something like that..you don't know those people" and walked away.
Then yesterday, he yelled from his front porch to another neighbor, "did you hear that those colored folks broke into another car last night?"
I want to confront this racist **&)@#, but I want to do it in such a way so that he will truly understand how backward and logically wrong his bigoted assumption is. Any suggestions?

I am considering not using Jerry Garcia's handprint as my avatar anymore. Since so many people have some sexy celebrity/photo stolen from the net of a hottie as their avatar, I would like to do the same.
I am a brunette (with reddish highlights), about 5'9" with big boobs (true) I am a supermodel and actress (not true)
I would like my potential avatar to reflect most of the characteristics listed above. Your suggestions are welcome!

It seems that there are more and more of these. While I don't mind stating my opinion, it's sometimes pretty irritating to see the same post like this in every single subforum here. Since this question is common, can Andrew start a seperate section for this topic?

It seems like there are hundreds of websites and books regarding the law school admissions process, yet hundreds of people keep asking the same questions over and over on this site. There are resources that list the 25th/75th percentile for all the schools, but I keep seeing threads that ask "what are my chances?" based solely on numbers.
Can you all post the resources you can use for this info? I will compile it in another thread so that people can find the info more easily.
A couple good ones:www.lsac.orgwww.usnews.com

The other board doesn't seem to get nearly the traffic this one does. I am wondering when people stop considering themselves "prelaw" and start considering themselves 1L's

I asked for and was granted a deferral so I can start school in Fall 2006. I called and got the news today. This should mean another waitlisted person will get in.
Good luck everyone!

I just got into my #1 choice off the waitlist after I was told chances of this occuring were "slim to none". Unfortunately, I manage a small firm and told them I would stay b/c I was going to reapply to my #1 choice next cycle. My fiance and I have been operating since June on the premise that I was going to school next fall. Now I feel like kind of a jerk for asking my 1st choice for a deferral and have taken heat for it on this board as well.
Anyone else have this issue come up?
I don't want to start law school after burning a bridge with my current employer, hurting clients who have depended on me for years, being freaked out over housing and the move, not being able to have the SO come with me and not having enough cash saved.

Please search some of the old thread topics to see if they answer your questions before posting a new thread. Much of the info you need has already been posted ad nauseum over the past year! Also, check the schools' "prospective students" webpages and lsac.org for info that is more reliable than the stuff posted here.
The search function is the center blue button at the top of the page.

Just kidding, but I thought it was pretty funny!
