Choosing the Right Law School / GW waitlist update?
« on: February 23, 2005, 05:10:24 PM »
I've been waitlisted at GW since late December. I recently graduated a semester early and took a job as a runner at a local firm to make some cash and kill time till the summer. I'm thinking of writing GW to tell them about it and play up my duties, etc, and to express my continued interest. Will they care that I am a runner? Should I even bother? Advice?

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Fordham Status checker... Complete??
« on: February 23, 2005, 05:07:35 PM »
I agree it is odd. Had my app in just after the ED deadline, and I have been waiting ever since. My status is "Pended" and review of my application is apparently complete, but no decision has yet been made. Is pended even a word?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / ND "Provisional" List?

Is there any significance to the Notre Dame Provisional List, or is it just a sweet name for a waitlist?

Waitlisted at GW too, and I have heard conflicting things about past WL experience there. Last year seemed like a bad year, but years prior have seen others admitted, I believe.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Emory Law?

Thanks for the responses. Doubledown Trent (and anyone else) you mention you are in at Emory, are you considering attending? Pros and Cons, in your view, especially if you are also looking to go back to DC. What others are you considering? I'd appreciate your thoughts...

Choosing the Right Law School / Emory Law?
« on: February 22, 2005, 06:28:19 PM »
Recently accepted at Emory LS. I visited and liked it alot. School and students seemed fine; Atlanta seems fun; its ranked well by USNEWS et al. The only "problem": I am from DC originally and looking to head back there (or up to NY) to do BIGLAW after graduation. Emory seems well regarded generally as a school, especially in the "southeast". My question: Is Emory Law's repuation sufficiently "national" to place me into a good BIGLAW job in either DC or NY? Does its reach extend far enough out of the deep/mid south?
