Didn't really want to go here anyways, but I got my "can't act affirmatively" letter. I would much rather live in Tampa than Gainesville, but UF was a heck of a lot cheaper.

Acceptances / Re: In @ FSU« on: March 01, 2005, 04:18:12 PM »That is strange. Congrats though! Who needs Stetson! I do!!....lol....congratulations. Maybe I will have a phone call on my answering machine when I get home. 95
Non-Traditional Students / Re: Financial Aid and budgeting for Non-trads« on: February 28, 2005, 09:56:27 PM »How did you figure out the cost for the rental truck? Darn sentimental furniture.... U-haul's website will let you get a quote to where you are going and they have some rough estimates for the size of truck you might need. For me, 2-3 BR, at least one trip with a 14' truck. Budget, Penske, et al. had similar things. www.pods.com is pretty neat if you don't mind shelling out a little extra $$. 96

Some good info here.....I am not sweating it at all. Worst case, I end up taking more in loans than I need and pay it back right away (lol.....discipline).
As to part of the OP's question....moving budget. I did my budget for the farthest school and the one I am most likely to attend(Stetson from PA). I need around $3,000 in spare cash to move door to door. That's for the rental truck, rent deposit, utilities, miscellaneous junk, etc. I put away an extra $1,000 on top of that because I am $hitty at math and something else always pops up, but I have moved many times and this was about the cheapest I could do it. 97
Black Law Student Discussion Board / Re: Spring Break« on: February 27, 2005, 10:48:41 AM »I'm going to Paris from the 11th-18th. Very excited! Wow....coincedence....I am going to be in Paris from March 4-12th. School trip, dirt cheap that I couldn't turn down. I can't wait....look at virtualtourist.com, there are tons of great tips on there. This will be the first vacation by myself in 6 years, so I am looking to have a good time. Good present for ourselves for actually making it through college and to rest up before the madness starts in August. 98
Where should I go next fall? / Re: How Will You Celebrate Your Most Wanted Acceptance?« on: February 26, 2005, 09:46:04 AM »biological scholarships. That's hilarious, I am to the point now where I will take some of those as well. I celebrated pretty big my first acceptance, because Stetson was also my top pick and the first one to get back to me. Fortunately, it came on V-day and I already had reservations at a fancy restaurant. I slipped my acceptance letter into my fiancee's V-day card and told her that way. Her parents called the restaurant while we were on the way and had the hostess anounce their congratulations in front of everyone that I was accepted and they bought our bottle of wine that evening. It was a real class move and then a few attorneys who happened to be dining there came over and congratulated me. Fortunately, someone else had given me a gift certificate for this place and her parents bought the bottle of wine, because it was wickedly expensive, but I couldn't have planned it better than it turned out. 99

That's what I did. All 4 years at Penn State York!! I haven't set foot on main campus since 1995 when I went to a football game.
As for the dual campus, maybe it will end up more autonomous like Widener-PA and Widener-DE |
