Current Law Students / Re: Does anyone use a digital voice recorder?

I noticed that my school has a policy of not allowing them except in certain cases.  Might be worth checking into.

I got mine for an X-mas gift.  You could always ask for one for a nice graduation gift or drop some hints for a b-day,etc.

Current Law Students / Housing at Stetson
« on: March 22, 2005, 06:41:42 PM »
Does anyone here know anything about good apartments near Stetson or about the houses the school has for rent?

I looked at about 15 apartments when I was there and really liked Emerald Bay in St. Pete.  The school's houses looked crappy from the outside, but the tour guide told us that they were pretty nice on the inside.  I am coming down there with my little dog, wife, and 9 year old, so I can't go to somewhere unsafe.

Just trying to get some personal knowledge, TIA.

Thanks for all the input on this thread.  I've thought long and hard about all the options and have arrived at Penske as the solution to my moving problem.  Slightly more expensive than their competitors, yet markedly better in reviews at  I'm leaving CT on July 28 in a 16' rental van with my car in tow, dropping off the car in St. Louis (where my fiancee lives), continuing to California, dropping off Penske in Palo Alto, flying back to St. Louis, getting married there, driving my car with the wife to California (while her parents drive her car), going on honeymoon, returning just in time for 1L orientation.

This sounds familiar to my logistical  I really liked my Penkse truck.  They offer a AAA discount.  I was already a member, but it would be worth the fee for one year considering the amount of the discount.  Also, beware....they didn't have the 20 foot truck I reserved, so they gave me a 26 foot truck for the same price.  Wasn't a big deal in the end, but that was a huge monster to drive.

Don't know much about the town, but I go there to use the metro and it is always easy to get into D.C.

Do you have 911?

They give you a form and instructions so you can register that phone number with your local 911.

How much does your phone service run you a month, including your broadband connection?

That's the catch right there, paying for the cable modem.   The Vonage plan I use is $15/month for something like 500 minutes.  I will probably go up to the $25/month unlimited minutes.

The cable modem is around $40-45 a month.  I can't remember off the top of my head.  I already had cable, so I saved on the vonage plan in the long run.

If you are satisfied with dialup connection, then there isn't any huge savings or detriment sticking with that.  I have to have a high speed connection or I will go nuts, but there are still plenty who are perfectly fine with dialup at home.

aka....cutting off the butt snake....aka....dropping the kids off at the pool....aka...
