General Board / Re: working part-time, school full-time?

I have another question which might be kind of hard to answer.  How much is the average salary for a 2L summer associate?

Here is a link to the NALP directory.  It should be able to give you some ballpark figures for wherever you are looking.

I noticed that my school has a policy of not allowing them except in certain cases.  Might be worth checking into.

I got mine for an X-mas gift.  You could always ask for one for a nice graduation gift or drop some hints for a b-day,etc.

Stetson / Re: Anyone attending Stetson out there??

For those of you who visited, how were the academic facilities? wireless connections in the classroom? How was the library? Was there relatively easy parking available?

thx for the info ;D

Parking looked pretty good when I was there (an amazing feat for any college).  The library was remarkable.  Tons of study rooms, library staff seemed nice.  Huge printing rooms, etc.  Couldn't tell you about the books except that there were lots of them.  If I remember right, there was wireless in all of the classrooms.  There were data ports at each seat in the classrooms as well so you can just plug in.  As long as the classrooms are air conditioned and the seats are comfortable (but not too much....no sleeping), I am pretty happy.  It seemed like Stetson had this nailed down.

Thanks for the feedback!!

I have to agree with you about the campus.  I am not easily impressed, but that is one of the few places I have been where the pics are not better.

Stetson / Apartments
« on: April 10, 2005, 06:02:13 PM »
I visited in January and got to visit about 10 different apartments near the campus.

I have a fiancee and a 9 year old, so my criteria are a little different than most.  I think we are going to go with Emerald Bay in SE St. Pete.

I talked with a student there through this board and she was very informative.  She mentioned that Lynn Lakes was very bad...very bad.  I looked up apartments at www.apartment ratings.com and I was horrified.  There was not much nice to say about any of the apartments near there (so take it with a grain of salt), but Lynn Lakes blew my mind....thanks for the heads up on that one.

For all of you've been accepted, what does their acceptance mailing look like?

It was in a larger envelope...bigger than a reg. business envelope, but not 8.5x11.
