I wish I had a name that rolled off like that, but alas, my parents did not bless me.

Acceptances / Re: transfering prospects

This happened to a friend of mine.  He didn't do that well on the LSAT.  He accepted at Widener and busted his ass and got the grades.  The next year he went to Rutgers on a transfer.  He really made out as Widener gave him money to attend.  Seemed like a good deal to me since he was able to prove that regardless of the test score he had what it takes to make good grades in law school.

Law School Applications / Re: No Need For Fin-Aid a Possible Boost?

I hope that isn't true or I am in trouble with the rest of my apps!!

The amount of scholarships given is not that high compared to the tuition rates of other schools.  So the aid packages are mostly loans.  There are something like 361 days of sunshine there, so they probably tax you on that as

EFC = Expected Family Contribution

After some magic formula, the FAFSA tells you how much you should chip in towards your own education I guess.

My fiancee has been talking me into Stetson from the start.  So I put the acceptance letter in her V-day card.  I think it made up for the crappy gift I got her.

No letter today when I got home, but I also just did my FAFSA today and found my EFC to be $0!!!  Hopefully it is like Monster Garage...."Freebie"

Sounds about what I did.

You only need 1!!

Acceptances / Stetson Financial Aid
« on: February 18, 2005, 01:59:07 PM »
Got my acceptance at Stetson on Monday, but there was nothing about financial aid, so I just got off the phone with them.

They told me the aid letters go out in batches separate from the acceptance letters and the majority have already been sent.  For merit scholarships, they look at LSAT and UGPA and then the rest of your packet.

Full-ride above 160, but there were some around 158.

I got my app in late and just did my FAFSA today, so hopefully I kight luck out.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Got a Thin Envelope from FSU

Florida Law,

FSU is my top pick as well.  I am going nuts wanting to hear back from them.  Congrats on the hold!  I know it is not an acceptance but hey, it aint a ding!  If you don't mind sharing, what are your #'s?   :)

My application has been complete at Stetson since November 10th of last year and I still haven't heard anything yet.  May I ask when your application was complete at Stetson? My application at FSU was complete at about the same time.

I got my acceptance at Stetson on 2/15.  I didn't get everything to them until the end of Jan.  I am still waiting on FSU and UF.

I fully intend on riding every day at Stetson.  The gas savings over my truck will be awesome.  As long as there is no snow or ice, I ride every day here in PA.  Camp-dry your bag to let the rain bead off so da laptop doesn't get wet.  Good rain gear makes all the difference.
