I would hang on for a little while.  Once the financial aid offers start rolling in, I think a lot of people will withdraw from there because of the crappy aid package.

Law School Admissions / Re: Obscenely abyssmal GPA - should I even bother?

I hear you on IS.  I am an IST major at Penn State.  Mostly got into that in case I didn't go to law school.  I am working as a software developer right now.  IT BLOWS!!!  Probably a sweet gig if you have a good idea and enough $$ to run your own business.

I should have done my English major instead of the minor, but at least I can do some cool stuff on the laptop now.

I remember reading about this the last time nominations came around.  Apparently, it isn't that difficult to gain a nomination.  If I remember right George W., Hitler, Stalin were all nominated.

I think they do a pretty good job of picking the awardees though.

Now, aside from being white and male I'm sure I qualify as a URM.  Afterall, how many French majors join the military?!?   ;)

My old platoon leader was a German major.....lol.

Why am I a non-trad?  27 divorced, single father of a 9 year old.  Looking forward to law school where the age difference isn't as great.  Getting married again this summer, so regardless of the night scene (the few nights of the year where I could actually go out) I will probably spend it all with my family.

So far I am pretty much decided on Stetson.  At least I will be the youngest guy in St. Petersburg.  The median age there is pretty high.

Thanks for the reminder!!!  Ridiculous show, but addicting....lol.

Donny Crane.....Denny Crane.....

I wish I had a name that rolled off like that, but alas, my parents did not bless me.

This happened to a friend of mine.  He didn't do that well on the LSAT.  He accepted at Widener and busted his ass and got the grades.  The next year he went to Rutgers on a transfer.  He really made out as Widener gave him money to attend.  Seemed like a good deal to me since he was able to prove that regardless of the test score he had what it takes to make good grades in law school.

I hope that isn't true or I am in trouble with the rest of my apps!!

The amount of scholarships given is not that high compared to the tuition rates of other schools.  So the aid packages are mostly loans.  There are something like 361 days of sunshine there, so they probably tax you on that as well....lol.
