It's not my first post - old lsders will remember me, hence 'londongirlback'. I was away for a few months, and now I'm back. Lots of people have helped me out on this site and I'm very grateful for that. But don't be so wary of new posters - everyone's got to start somewhere!

Me too!
Just got email today - totally out of the blue!
I'm so happy!!!!!!!!
See you on admit day. I'm coming from London. It's true love!

Why should the op have to justify herself to anybody else? I just don't get it - she didn't 'take your place'. She is obviously deemed good enough by the adcom. The selection process is scupulous, they obviously found spark, and that's often not quantifiable even by lists of extra-curricular activities.
I believe the personal statement is the main thing at Boalt, to be honest. They really do read it, and I can tell you a spent months on mine. I can't emphasise how much of a difference it makes. Everyone I know who has been admitted really made a special effort with that part of the application. After all, they allow you 4 sides - more than, I think, any other school. So it's important to tailor it and get it right.

Me too!
I just got the email from Edward Tom, sent yesterday.
to all you horrid people moaning about the OP's acceptance, you can forget AA as an explanation.
I am white and I have a 157 LSAT. So there you go. I do have 'different' extracurriculars and a high equivalent of a GPA (I'm from England)... but nothing is ever expected with Boalt.
I'm absolutely delighted and feel very lucky that they look beyond numbers.
Congratulations SWB and everyone else. Good luck to all of you for the rest of the admissions cycle.
