Waitlisted at Houston.

The social controls that this “brand” of “Christianity” stipulates are absolutely abhorrent. I am still in shock over the whole ordeal of reading their code of conduct. As an atheist, I would not mind attending some type of school that purports to be religious, as some forms of religions have some basic ideals of which I can appreciate. However, I would rather be executed then be subjected to such a thing.   :o

duh, never use your real name here, and use a dif email address for school.

Or just don't be a dumb-ass when you post.

As ya'll like to say.....TITCR

My personal statement talks about a particular interest I have, so at the end of each statement, I tried to personalize my last paragraph to explain why I wanted to go to that particular school (because I only applied to schools that had programs/journals/clinics, etc. that I am currently interested in).  I figured it just added more depth to the essay and showed how my current interests can lead to a future career choice.

I did this as well. I tied one paragraph (next to last) on each statement that was specifics on why this particular school was a good fit. I think it also adds a little more depth, and you have reason to apply. For a borderline candidate, like me, I think it is more important than for auto-admits. With that said, if I were an auto-admit, I would not insult the school by dropping the school name without any context in which to do so.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: T3 & T4 Acceptances and Rejections 2007

If I were to "throw out a shingle" it would be in Criminal. However, I think I would want to work for the DA or PD office for a few years to get the experience.

Kencade, that is excellent information. While I did not ask the questions, I really apreciate the information. I am really considering TU. I lived in Tulsa for a couple of years in the early 90s and have not been back since. However, I do not think I would mind going back.

TU offered me 16k per year, and after speaking to Dean Cordell, they may be willing to do more. Not having 6 figure debt coming out of law school is very appealing to me, and I liked Tulsa while I was there. My biggest concern, however, is the job prospects. You do make it sound like it is doable, but I am very nervous about it.

Well, good luck to you Cube Farmer! Definitely better to know sooner than later. Unlike you, I believe I'll be in "file in review" hell for quite a while :(

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll update when I get the letter. Either way, at least I can have some closure and probably end up at Tech...

At least we seemed to have mastered this whole "self-loathing" concept, huh? :D :D

Yeah, no joke.

Actually, now that you I see you have a good GPA and are a Houston resident, I would say you will probably get that acceptance letter this week.  Houston very much likes Texas residents.  You will get in, I think.

Actually, I am a Houston native, not a current resident. I am in Colorado right now, but want to get back.

Smack, I have been complete since Sept. 28th....
