Flossy:
I think that UCSD is actually really pleasing.  I guess it's kind of like the eiffle tower syndrome, you either love it when you walk through, hate it when you walk through, or try to ignore it when you walk through and find that you're more or less indifferent.  For example: I guess some people can look at Gisel (our library) and go "that's the ugliest peice of poo I've ever seen" but I don't mind it, and I think it's unique (haha so unique  it's become our official school mascot!)  Anwyay, UCSD is really nice, it's nice and open and not cramped, sure Warren Lecture Hall is nothing to brag about but the New Pepper Canyon Lecture Hall is quite spiffy.  Plus the entire campus is wireless and we have all those trees on campus.  I think our campus has a very nice feel to it, not to metion the wonderful weather.  I actually live in Mira Mesa this year, I feel that it's a more livable city than La Jolla.  (You can see the beach from Revelle, Muir, Marshal, and ERC.)  And I am sure there are slumlords at every campus, so don't rag on UCSD for that.  (How do you know about UCSD anyway?  Graduate? Major?)  :P

Ambs:
Well I studied abroad in Paris, so I guess I am used to the homeless situation.  (But I was only there for like 5 months.)  I think the weather also affects my mood, so if Hastings is constantly gray, I think that will make me sad.  I've only been up to SF a few times, and each time I've gone it's rained.  Do you think people have problems adjusting to different weather conditions?  LOL. When it rains here, no one even goes to school.  ???

Franz:
TBone is gay, don't mind him. ;D

TBone:
You are gay.  Don't fret little TBone, you still win gayest LSD (and LSN) member of all time!  *clap clap*  8)

1. Homeless? There's homeless roaming around! EW! I live in La Jolla (UCSD) and we're not even allowed to give food to the homeless (it's illegal.)  Because the city thinks that by giving handouts they will just keep coming back, like the seagulls/pidgeons.

2. Hastings, so is it pretty or not pretty?  Is it only one law building?  Does it have a courtyard?  What's close by?  Is there like a shopping/mall-like area around?

3. Blah blah don't confuse why you're going to law school: to study law and now pick flowers...

4. I think they downplay the competitiveness, I really truely believe it is there.

5. Boo.  This whole application cycle is poo.

"you are unique, and so is everybody else."

I got that in a fortune cookie once, it made me sad.  However, passing along that wisdom, makes me happy.

I feel these alleged top law schools were really misleading. They all claim to look at other "soft" factors. I figured I have great extracurriculars and volunteer work, unique jobs and internships, graduate school, wonderful recommendations, and an almost perfect GPA from a pretty difficult and highly respected school.

Every applicant thinks their extracurriculars are "great," their jobs are "unique," and their recommendations are "wonderful." I suppose your personal statement was "strong," or maybe "excellent," and you, yourself, are somehow "prestigious," like all the fine people at XOXOHTH.

Which isn't to say you won't make a fine lawyer. Be all you can be. But you're in good company if you think you are singular among all applicants.

whoa--a bit harsh there don't you think?  are you training to be simon's replacement on american idol?
