Where should I go next fall? / Withdrawn from multiple schools
« on: March 29, 2005, 09:10:41 PM »
With the unexpected and quick acceptance to Rutgers-Camden, I can now cross some schools off my list. I withdrew from all of the following:

  • Cardozo (cost of living plus tuition is too much for me.)
  • Case Western
  • Hofstra
  • Quinnipiac
  • U of San Diego
  • Florida Coastal
  • Cooley
  • Valparaiso

In general, R-C has less required courses and more courses that are interesting to me. Plus their tuition is often lower than these schools.

Wait List / Re: Hold at Case Western

Since I got accepted to Rutgers-Camden, I decided to withdraw my application from Case Western. I am sure that they will fill all of their seats and that the students will all be worthy.

Where should I go next fall? / Required courses at Rutgers- Camden?

I don't know why anyone here would know, but does anyone know the full list of required courses at Rutgers-Camden? The material I can find seems to indicate that only the first year's classes are required, but I have not found anything that is firm.

Where should I go next fall? / Cost of living in New York
« on: March 28, 2005, 11:01:08 PM »
I have applied to Cardozo and there are many things about the school that are attractive. However, the cost of living in New York is appalling.

I used this salary calculator
http://www.homefair.com/homefair/servlet/ActionServlet?pid=199&cid=homefair

To live in Austin for a year, I would need about $30,000 in living expenses. The calculator says I will spend $84,453 in Manhattan!

I would like to live close to whatever school I am attending. How can I bring living costs under control and still live near Cardozo?

Of the schools that have not rejected me, they are actually second. However, this assumes that no school offers me any money.

There are some schools that with only a little cash could overtake Rutgers. I also have not visited most of the schools that have not rejected me. It is possible that a school's facilities could sway my opinion one way or the other.
