Pitt has a lot of money and has been buying good professors away from higher ranked schools for some time.  I think their reputation score will continue to improve, their admissions stats will continue to improve, and their placement will remain very solid, if a bit regionally limited.  I think the simpler point about Pitt, though, is that, if you prefer to live in Pitt than Boston, for instance, Pitt is a better school than BU or BC.  Overall, no one would say such a thing about those schools, pointing to the vast difference in rankings.  But Pittsburgh lawyers are loyal to Pitt and Duquesne grads, and any cursory or in-depth search of NALP and Martindale will show this.  It's never gonna be top-20, but if it even falls slightly in the rankings, it won't have any significant negative effects.  And evidence suggests that the only movement will be in the other direction.

So who's the test-tube shot girl?

Yeah, we hired that one AngieNYC girl (the one with all the crotchpics) but she quit after, like, two days.  We think her boyfriend didn't like all the corporate types goosing her.

That soundtrack is worthless, unless it makes you go buy the Shins' albums.

Time to slow things down.

Who the f*ck keeps bumping the turntables?

Meanwhile, this really sexy college student has been talking to me about what I'm spinning for an hour now.  I never thought the Massive Attack/Nusrat Ali Kahn combo would seem as hip as it does.

Working this club is nice, but the well vodka (what they only serve the DJ's, occasional performers, etc.) is really cheap.  I think it's time I switch to water, anyway, as no one seems pleased with my ironically hipster selection of "Wild Wild West."

I just watched a movie called something like "harold and kumar go to a white castle". Man, i kinda miss my days as an irresponsible kid getting stoned, drunk, eating shrooms, dressing in tight polyester women's lounge suits purchased from a local thrift store, dancing all night around the streets and clubs of downtown Houston, and ending up in my underwear in the woods along the bayou playing wolf-man. No joke - that was some serious genius in action. Thank god the TV's gone. I'm getting those rumblings again ...

Education. Knowledge. Creativity. And the guts to crack that sh*t wide open. Good times on the horizon - for sure.

Not sure what you meant by that last part, but I think I agree with the sentiments expressed in the previous paragraph.

Jesus was a total commie.  PCoL, for sure.

And no, Jesus was not black, though it is insane to think of him as having been white.  He was Jewish, but we would recognize him as Israeli or east asian or something.

Or at least I think.

Thanks for the heads up on this story.  ;D

EQ is very interesting, and definitely superior from a scholarly point of view. Leiter is also very up front about the date he uses and his method of ranking.

let me be the first to admit that last wknd i was wandering around a big drugstore with my bf and "to be with you" came on and i started dancing around and harmonizing... with a ginormous pink stuffed frog...

I like the 3-second part where you're completely sure that a woman took over the vocals.

People call Faith No More a one-hit wonder.  I never really got that since they were successful for so long. But I love FNM.  And that spacehog song too.  and the toadies song (and their album was good, too).  and I liked that song "I could never be  your woman."  and the one that went (I think) "do I want you, i don't know if I do, but, oooh, I'd die to find out. (I'D DIE TO FIND OUT)"
