4. heading to Pitt in the fall. very excited about it, too.

5. when I first came to this site, I whined about NOLA being way to hot all the time. 

6. then it was nice for 4 months.

7. now the heat is back, and I've never longed for my homestate more.

Three points.  First, like Franz noted, you will make around 25k your 2l summer, possibly your 1L summer as well.  Second, if you work your ass off and manage to do well, you might be able to threaten to transfer, and be offered a scholarship if a higher ranked school accepts you (this, I hear, is the best/only way to change your scholarship funding after the initial award). 

Third, just to be an as$, I will note that Pitt will cost me, max, 60k for all three years.  I am not worried about employment prospects, either.

Sacramento is very nice, and far cheaper than DC.  Lawyers in Sac. go to wine country and the sierras on weekends.  those in dc, well, don't.  Davis all the way, were I in your shoes.
