My letter should have arrived in their office early last week (almost two weeks ago), but the online status checker shows that my file is still not complete. Is anyone here in a similar situation?

I sent in an updated transcript to reflect my final semester grades, but that was before my degree was posted on my transcript. Now that my transcript has an extra line indicating that I have received my degree, do I need to send another transcript?
Do law schools ask for another copy once I enroll? 3

I'm just trying to get a sense of where I should be applying to in the fall, and whether it is worth the effort to try the LSAT once again. (I was having a bad day on my second try, but I think I got lucky with the guesses. My practice scores got to be about a couple points higher.)

Law School Applications / taking a year off before LS - get a job?« on: November 19, 2007, 05:16:26 AM »
I'm probably going to take a year off before I go to law school, but am unsure as to what exactly I am to do during this time. I think I'll work but there's a big problem - any decent job seems to require that I stay for longer for one year. (That is, employers will prefer to hire someone who would stay longer so they'd lose less money trying to train them.) So everyone-
1. what are some good jobs to consider? (Some criteria: I'd prefer not to be a paralegal and though I would very much like to go abroad, I don't want to teach English. I am planning on transactional biglaw, with a transfer to Asia sometime down the line.) 2. should i conceal to potential employers that i intend to bail a year later for law school? Now Peace Corps would be awesome if they didn't force me to take 2.5 yrs off... 5
Studying for the LSAT / I'm not sure if I should take a class« on: November 07, 2007, 05:04:58 AM »
I took the September LSAT and got a 165. This I got from reading through the PS Logic Games Bible (doing about 80% of its problems) and doing three practice tests (scoring somewhere between 160 and 170 on each try). On the real LSAT I got -5 for LG, -4 for LR, -2 for RC, and -5 for LR. This is worse that what I was getting for LR (average -3), but better than what I was getting for LG (average -8). I plan to retake in February and am shooting for mid-170s.
What is the best thing I can do at this point? Keep taking practice tests? Or should I take a class? (Yes, I lack a slight bit of self-discipline, and hence did not practice as much as I should before September...) But what could the test teach me that I do not already know? 6

Is it necessary to include a GPA on the resume (since they already have an LSDAS-calculated GPA elsewhere in the application)?
I am thinking of including a major GPA on my resume (which a couple tenths higher than my overall GPA due to a failed engineering major story...) as supplementary information. I'm not sure how to calculate this - weight it according to LSAC (counting A+ as 4.33)? include courses taken at junior colleges? or weight it according to my university (counting A+ as 4.0) and excluding jr college credit I used to fulfill major requirements? 7

Im currently a engineering major at a T20 ugrad (GPA=3.5/4.0) and am considering law school after I complete my B.S. degree in 2007. I'm still at the "thinking about it stage" so I have a few basic questions.
If I keep the GPA I have now and get a fairly good LSAT score (~170+), how competitive will I be in terms of law school admissions? I guess my engineering degree will qualify me for the patent bar once I finish law school. What are some good resources on patent law, etc so I can learn how life is like in the area? How are the job prospects for those with bioengineering/biomedical engineering degrees? Would it help to get an engineering graduate degree first? looking for some advice and suggestions on how to proceed...Thanks.
