General Off-Topic Board / Re: Should Social Security Be Privatized?
« on: February 27, 2005, 01:18:49 PM »
I hope Republicans dismantle social security.

So they can be voted out of power for the next 30 years.

I know this forum is mostly a liberal place.  I would like to address the role of military force in International relations.  Do liberals believe that there will come a time when power is no longer determined by the capability, size, and strength of your military force?  How do liberals suppose the world will exist in a state of Anarchy without war while lacking a global hegemon such as the United States to enforce norms?  Do liberals really believe that an International Organization such as the UN does not seek the same rational interests for itself that other states do?

just curious......

Every president in American history has been "realist" IMO. And no, Bush isn't a "good" man.

My numbers are in my LSN profile.

I wasn't expecting any type of decision this early.

ND has been brutal this year. You have good numbers.

3.5/160. Kind of surprised.

I didn't really want to go there anyway.

General Off-Topic Board / Was Duke a top law school when Nixon attended?
« on: February 20, 2005, 11:49:44 PM »
Being a Democrat, one wouldn't expect me to care about this subject, but I have always been fascinated with Richard Nixon. His meteoric rise has always been interesting to me. Anyone know about his days at Duke? They were a relatively new law school back in those days.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Northwestern! ICK

Definitely got that expected rejection earlier today -- no work experience doesn't help iffy numbers at NWU!

I'm more surprised at how ND waitlisted you. Gimme a break. You have 75% type numbers for ND.

I will be a 1L next fall, and I plan to work 2 days into each week's schedule where I can go work out for a couple of hours at my school's athletic center. Exercize is great at combating boredom and energizing study habits. Anyone agree?

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: University of Kentucky

Thanks for your comments. Luckily I'm not interested in working north of Kentucky. I was thinking FL, AR, GA, TX.
