Choosing the Right Law School / Re: catholic vs. miami

Both are overly expensive IMO, but at least with Miami its sort of the only game in town; as opposed to CU which competes with many other schools. And as far as living, Miami > DC anyday (unless you want federal government work).

SMU will be a lot more expensive.

Congrats--are they your first choice?

Not really. I've applied to almost 20 schools (some reaches and some safties). This was pretty much a target school for me I think. I can see myself going there. It is a nice school in a nice area of KY.

Choosing the Right Law School / Does Alabama place well outside the state?
« on: February 03, 2005, 03:25:12 PM »
I've applied to 'Bama, which is a top 40 school, and am wondering how they place outside of the state. Do they place ok in Atlanta or FL? Any thoughts on this? UA is cheap and a good school, but I'm wondering what kind of pull they have outside of Alabama.

I applied to UKLaw as well (160, 3.5). I don't know if I would attend unless they gave me some sort of scholarship. Btw it's pretty hard to gain residency if you're living on campus.

MustBMe, I can't believe you registered to post such an angry post. Furthermore, I'm struggling to understand what kind of person would direct such vile at another who's just gotten into her dream school.  >:(

1) What's "vile" is the policy.

2) My post wasn't directed at the applicant; it was directed at the sheer absurdity of affirmative action, which proclaims that I, with BETTER numbers, actually have a WORSE chance of getting in to a particular school simply for being born.

It's too bad I'm not a black woman.

Wait ... you hear that? It's the world's smallest violin.

Yeah, ain't reverse racism great?
