1L job search / Grade Requirements for getting a summer job

HI,

I was just curious about this. So if a student got for instance all C's or all B's and a D or something to that effect, should they not apply to any job which requests a copy of their transcripts? I am just wondering what happens to the students who didn't get all A's or B's. Are they doomed? Or are there plenty of jobs which don't ask for first semester grades?

I felt confident when I took my exams well except for one, but as a first year student I don't know what to expect. So these thoughts have run across my mind, since I know alot of jobs request to see your 1st semester grades. Ok, as you can see I am still  waiting to recieve my grades.  ???

I didnt realize there was a empahsis on obtaining a writing sample from your 1L job. So then does it matter where you work then or does it only matter as long as you come away with a writing sample? Also, how important will this writing sample be for your 2L job search? No one at our school ever mentioned this being so important.

At our school we had two year long courses which we wont get a grade for until spring. That leaves us with only 3 classes we'll actually have a final grade for come second semester. Most of the jobs i've seen so far don't seem to be to concerned with grades, they mainly require resume, cover letter and a writing sample. But I suppose it varies from job to job since I have seen a few who want reccomendations and transcripts as well.

hey guys! i think i may have just gotten off the waitlist at howard today. The dean of admissions called but i wasnt home. I'm hoping its a last minute acceptance. I just hope im not wrong! >:( Anyhow, so if it IS good news. I need every single piece of info anyone can give me! ;)
I understand orientation is this week and classes start next week??  Does anyone know of any good places to live in the MD area that are pretty close to the school? Have you guys receievd your assignments yet for the first day of classeS? Any advice or info you could give is GREATLY needed! ;D
