2) getting anything less than a B+ in most grad programs is difficult if you so much as show up to class on occassion and do a little work. yes, a C is a failing grade, but grades are not curved, so Cs are very rare.

This is patently untrue in my experience.  As someone who has gone through the grad school process (MBA), I can tell you that undergrad is where the grade inflation resides.  This is nothing more credential one-up-manship.  Some masters programs probably are cake.  Political science and communications come to mind.  The MBA was much harder than undergrad.  I never worked so hard in a class as I did in managerial accounting and global economics.

Russian - Where are you going to school?  We share the same sound, rigorous, and principled reasons for selecting the right school.  :D

Law School Applications / Re: Do all schools request reports?

Yes and No and i would send them an email to make sure they have your app.

Your note suggests that you know of schools that do not request the report.  How can that be true?  Which schools?

The problem is that grad school grades are inflated, big time. In many programs, the average GPA is like 3.6-3.7; at some, it's 3.8-3.9. The narrow range, variety of programs, and subjectivity of some grading systems makes a GGPA difficult to interpret meaningfully.

My experience is that grad school is less inflated than undergrad.  Anything less than a B average in grad school gets flunked out.  Of course the GPAs will be higher.  Only the best students start and finish.  C students don't last two semesters in grad school.

I'm glad you love where you live, Pook.

Don't underestimate the strength of earthquakes.  I don't think a tornado, hurricane, or snowstorm has ever killed more than 260,000 people.

If I am accepted in SoCal, I trust I can enlist your help in guiding this Ohio boy in finding cheap rent?  :)

Sorry - To hear about that.  Don't worry - William Mitchell is a good school in a cool city.
