Law School Applications / Re: Drop Out Rate
« on: January 23, 2005, 09:28:29 PM »
you would have to be a god damn retard to drop out after your second year, honestly, why the hell would you do that with only 1 yr left?

I worked with a woman who dropped out after finishing her second year.  I don't understand it, either.  Especially when you consider that year 3 is the easiest of them all.

Law School Applications / Re: What Would You Do?

I think you both are assuming that the OP wants to practice with a big law firm.  If not, then the OP's professional needs immediately out of law school might be well served by CW or TJ.

To be fair, I have noticed that my career has been held back more due to my lack of soft skills.  Some call it sucking up.

I am not concerned at all about how I will perform as an associate attorney.  I've always excelled at difficult, stressful work.  No matter what firm/company I end up with, I know I will provide exceptional value to the firm/company.

The big news here is to not give up on a waitlist.  People applied to more schools this year...people will get accepted to more schools, but can only attend one.  That means there will be more spots left open to fill from the waitlist.

Some schools have a really bad habit of waitlisting until almost the very last minute.  It should be said that it might be wise this year to not commit to a school until that last waitlisted dream reach gives the final word.

Deloggio has been a long-time source of above average to excellent quality information about the admissions process.  If she says applications are down 4% to 6%, then I'll take her word for it.

I agree that the medians will probably not drop at most schools.  That means, of course, that if you have applied for a lot of reach schools at that 25% level, then you can expect there to be fewer dings at that low end.

Let's say that only 5 people out of 50 applicants were admitted with 3.0/153 numbers.  If Deloggio is right, then we might see a significant increase in that number.  Maybe as many as 10 to 15 more people will be admitted at that 25% level.  The 25% will still be 3.0/153, but more will get in with those numbers.

If I'm wrong, please jump in.

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: Pepperdine Law discussed on "Joey"

I saw the episode, and I was wondering whether or not Pepperdine was taking that hit because it is a Christian school.  Pepperdine is a red spot in a sea of blue.

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: Schools with the hottest girls.
« on: January 23, 2005, 06:24:28 PM »
Ahhh... I see ASU is on that list.  And I know for a fact most of the girls are sluts.  Half of them were in my sorority.  :) I mean that in a loving way, of course.

Hey now! My cousins went to ASU and were in houses there, and they are not sluts. They just have a lot of male friends they like to sleep with after knowing them for about 2 hours...

So long as people get to know one another, and develop a loving relationship, pre-marital sex is not necessarily a bad thing...

Personal Statement / Wrong Tense Used In Personal Statement
« on: January 22, 2005, 08:15:59 PM »
Okay - I think I might have kissed off my chance at law school.  My personal statement has the wrong tense in one spot in the second sentence.  I can't believe I missed this.  That is the only thing in my PS that is wrong.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how big a deal is this?  1 being no harm at all, 10 being maximum harm and I won't be admitted to any law school.

[I think you have a hot female private part.

You got that right, comrade.  He's my porno kitty, Pfeffer (I found him wandering the streets of Oberkail, Germany).  He'll do just about anything for a hot bite of schnitzel.

I think that picture of your cat is rated NC-17.

I don't place a lot of stock in trying to make others jealous as I truly believe it makes me unhappy, but my dream is to get into any of my dream reaches as PT student.
