Hi Guys. I recently received the same letter with regard to the MRLS. Matthies, it seems as if I am in the same boat as you. I am interested in environmental law, but my lsat score is not competitive enough to get into any of the schools that have a good concentration in the study. I currently live in Michigan, and have been accepted to a few schools here, but I have family in CO, and would much rather live in 300 days of sunshine a year.

My questions are these: Do graduates of the MRLS program get any kind of special consideration to the J.D. program at Denver College of Law? Also, how competitive is the MRLS program itself in terms of difficulty, and also, if I do apply, how difficult is it to get in? The letter I received states that there are only 45 places allotted each year. Also do they look at LSAT scores in making their decisions? Is there any way to assess my chances of admission to the MRLS program and to the J.D. program afterwards? Thanks a lot for your help.

UDM has a strong alumni base in Michigan. Very little national reputation, but great if you plan to practice in Michigan. Check out the websites of some of the top firms in Michigan (Dykema Gossett etc.) All hire largely from UDM. Starting salaries are okay. Placement is high also.

Are you decided on UDM then?

I went to the school's "perspectives weekend" for admitted students this weekend, and apparently they do not begin processing financial aid until April 1st.
