General Off-Topic Board / Re: I did it! I'm "officially" married!
« on: April 05, 2005, 12:32:16 PM »

Everyone sees famous people in Austin except for me.  I haven't even run into the non-famous real world people yet.

I did have a conversation w/ Regis Philbin, but's he's so obnoxious he definitely doesn't count for anything.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Baylor
« on: April 01, 2005, 05:04:40 PM »
Maybe I'm biased, but I think it's a nice way of giving some people that may not have good numbers but they think would be good students a chance.  Or maybe it's just me.

Denials / Re: Good bye, UTexas

Sorry to hear coolbeans.  Maybe I'll see you at Baylor this fall!

University Scholars.  Do you know how ridiculous that looks on a resume?  It means I got to take whatever I want as long as I kept my GPA up.  It sounded like a good idea as a freshman, not such a good idea when trying to find skills someone might pay me for.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Grade Curves

Unfortunately Baylor's sucks.  It's like a C.  Old school style.  Why am I going there again?

General Off-Topic Board / Re: House

I LOVE House.  I'm glad they're starting to throw some kinks in the plot.  It was getting a little predictable there for a while.  Now we have the evil chairman of the board to worry about while we wonder if House can save the inexplicably sick patient.

Acceptances / Re: TEXAS!!!!!
« on: March 29, 2005, 12:39:46 PM »
I got the thin envelope today. In-state 3.98 with a split 160/166. After being deferred I wasn't really expecting this acceptance.

I still am considering a full-tuition Baylor scholarship.

I know that the Baylor/UT debate has been hashed out many times, but what do ya'll think between these schools?

Also, do you know when I should recieve potential UT financial aid/scholarship info?

Well everyone knows what I think at this point of the UT/Baylor debate.  I think UT's big, too big.  That said, I don't plan on ever teaching or clerking somewhere prestigious or working biglaw so I don't think it really matters where I go.  If you're interested in any of these things even I'll say go to UT, but if not, take the money and run!  Good luck w/ your decision I know it's tough! ... and good luck w/ Venderbilt too, but why leave Texas?

Acceptances / Re: Take the Money and Run???
« on: March 22, 2005, 05:02:50 PM »
I took the money at Baylor and ran.  Bye Bye Texas.  I don't care.  It wasn't just about the money either.  I looked at other factors that were really important to me personally like size.

Law School Applications / Re: Fee Waivers?
« on: March 22, 2005, 01:22:52 PM »
I took the December test and still got fee waivers.  Granted, I couldn't use any of them because I'd already sent in my apps, but you can get them and use them if you apply a little later.  You cannot however get a refund.
