Crow, I know you have access to

http://maps.google.com/

I would say Michigan mostly would qualify as Upper Midwest

Sweet, I knew it. I hear there are some Lakes up there and Canada isn't so far away.

Ah, Ana and Ellie only speak 25% Dixie. I was hoping for a clean 100%, but I guess 25% isn't so bad.

I'm bummed I had any Yankee.  I thought it'd be 100% Dixie too.  I spell out y'all on the computer for goodness sakes!

Okay, I'm done deleting for awhile. So sad to delete our little thread. :'(

Anyone up for a HH/snack after work today?

The thread is shrinking. So sad.

I would, but I will be attending the Future Baylor Law Students Mixer.  Wahoo.

um so I am going to that cocktail meet and greet thing tomorrow in Austin but am thinking about also driving up to good ol' Waco for the Admitted Students thing... anyone else going to that on Friday (June 10)?

I've got to work.  Wish I could though. I didn't go to a prospective/admitted student day when I visited and I'd kind of like the chance to visit with other future students.

I'll be at Iron Cactus tonight though.  Do you think they're feeding us?

I'll be there on the 8th.  I would not suggest LLSams.  Everyone I've ever known that has lived there has regretted it.  It's super loud, ridiculous electricity bills, and very dusty.  I hate to say that too, because I really love the look of them and the idea that they saved that wonderful building and its history!  I went to Baylor undergrad so I'm pretty familiar w/ housing and can pass on what little knowledge I have at the mixer.

Excellent - looking forward to chatting with you on the 8th!  Sad about the lofts but I kinda have gotten that feeling from some friends who also went to Baylor as undergrads - they are just so damn pretty though!  Oh well, not living there will save tons of cash.  Where are you looking into living?

I've signed a lease for a duplex at 15th and daughtrey.  I originally wasn't planning on living in the "undergrad neighborhood" area, but I really love it and it's kind of on the edge so I don't think it will be a problem.  There may be one unit open still.  I'm not sure.  There's pictures on www.campusrealtors.com under specials.  It's the little green duplex w/ tile floors.  The rent's not $1000 anymore though, it's $900.  The front is plain, but flowers can fix that.  I like having a yard and tile floors!  My roommate and I looked at some farther away places like pecan ridge and the nice new place out in hewitt.  We liked them, but we were both at Baylor undergrad and couldn't get used to the idea of living on the other side of Waco from school.

I understand your apprehensions about Baylor.  I'm gung ho and still have some of the same worries.  What apartment complex were you planning on?

I don't think Houston is that much bigger than the whole DFW area.

Well that's true, but that's 2 cities.

Is the OP still out there?  We're all talking away (well I am at least) w/ no word from classykaka.  Any of this advice helping?

htrus is pretty right (even though I still vote for Baylor).  This more about the environment that would make you happy.  Would you rather be in Dallas close to/living with family at a small school or would you rather be on your own in big, giant sprawling Houston at a big school or would you rather be in a mid-sized town (I happen to love Waco by the way for those naysayers who aren't fans and I'm from Houston so I've done the big city thing) at a very small school where even the Dean will know your name.

Think about what you liked or didn't like about your undergrad and work from there.
