It does show that they improved (2-5 places) in four out of five ranking criteria. That 34 place drop in placement ranking is pretty big, though, and hard to ignore. Even though it is only weighted as 12% of the overall ranking, I think that it is a pretty important number to most of us on this board.
What I want to know is which is the abberation? This year's 84% employment number, or last year's 93% employment number or the previous year's 90% placement number? I don't have data going back further. I guess that I'm not all that concerned with it, because I am pretty confident that I will be among the employed, regardless.

thanks... it's even funnier if you look at it while pumping some acid-trance.

Didn't your school also drop down to third tier? I think we're in the same boat.

Where are those nerds
from USF meeting anyway? Let's go show them what SCU Law is all about.
Pick a costume for our rendez-vous. I'm kinda partial to the hot hippy-chick costume, but I could probably be convinced to go along with the adult baby.
Hot Dog Man
(oops. that joke won't fly at jesuit school)
(Sorry. In real life I'm still 100% smart-ass, but I swear I'm not as much of a dīck.)

I was just trying to be like some of the other school boards. USF people are already having get togethers for Chreezy's sake. GOSH! But if you ppl don't want it, i won't force it on you.
First impressions...BAH HUMBUG!
Really? Where are the USF people meeting? Let's go meet them there and then we can make fun of them for going to a school that dropped down to Third Tier obscurity.
You go find out where they're meeting and report back. In the meantime, I'll find us some sweet costumes that we can wear so that when we get there, we will know who's side we're on.

Wow! That is seriously intense. Doesn't that program start on Friday?
You still have four good schools pending. What would you do if you got into one of those schools?

I can't wait for the first week to be over, then i'll hit the nearest table tennis joint and party the night away.
The first week? I thought we would have to wait until winter break before we could realistically party the night away. Then again, I don't think I've ever started a sentence by saying "hit the nearest table tennis joint," so maybe my interpretation of "party the night away" is slightly different. In my version, there are lesbians and cocaine... are we at the same party?
Seriously though, Ragnar, I don't know if I'm ready to take our online relationship into the brick & mortar world. I would rather you have no idea who I am, and you spend all year tryting to figure out which classmates have alternate LSD-induced personas.

I come from Iceland. I've never been away from my parent's home. I will be very lonely at Santa Clara. I've never seen a black man before. You sound very attractive. You will be able to tell me by the clothes I wear. They are usually very tight and flattering to my body. Please say Hi to me. Maybe we can start a study group. Here is my picture so you will recognize me:

???I'm on the wait list at Houston so when will I know if I have a chance? Should I just go on to TexTech and forget about Houston?
Houston never really waitlisted people before so this might be a new tactic (I am basing this off of LSN from last year versuses this year). They might be overly cautious this year and probably don't want to over enroll people (I noticed the same effect at SMU and Baylor). Send send a letter of interest, try and visit the school, and send in a few LORs or a resume update to let them know you are interested. As soon as I see what damage will be done at SMU (ie see the costs and what not) I will decide if I will pull my name their waitlist or not. BTW, though ranked lower, Tech is still a very good school and will probably be breaking into the second tier in the next few years.
Houston had one WL listed on LSN last year. Maybe there were more. The sample size for last year (80) was just slightly more than half the sample size this year (150). Perhaps the LSN sample last year wasn't representative of the overall applicant pool, and this year's sample is closer? Just a theory.
