Hey, i know how you feel about turnin down some good money.  15 grand from Fordham and the chance to live in the city I really want to be just for a 2006 admission and a waitlist to GULC. Thankfully, I got an e-mail from Dean Cornblatt around 4 o'clock yesterday.  Did he also use the line about not being able to give a decision but you would be pleased, with the "(subtle enough)" parenthetical?
Yes, the email I received from the dean did contain that "against policy to give decisions via email" line.  I'm not complaining.  ;)

Congrats, Bacchante! ;D
Hey thanks, mobell.  Congrats on Yale!  Now that you're not going to Columbia maybe that will free up a spot for me....

Thanks everyone!

GULC is definitely at the top of my list now.  I'm sure I won't get any merit $ so the thought of turning down $ at other schools and taking out the full cost for GULC in loans is frightening, but I think it will be better for me in the long run.

All you other WLers: keep the faith!  ;D

Woo Hoo!!  Just got the email!  ;D

And I didn't send in any supplemental materials.

Recommendations / Re: Employer Rec vs. Prof Rec

I second what InVinoVeritas said: it is better to have an excellent rec. from someone that has worked cloesly with you than from a prof that only knows you as a distant memory.  It will definitely come across to the reader.

FYI, I've been out of undergrad for almost ten years and out of grad for three and all of my LORs were from current/previous employers.

I see that kwertee has an incredible lsat score...are you up in that range as well bachante?  Perhaps the long version is targeted to the heavy hitters on the lsat side. Just a guess.

Also, I'd be curious to see if the two with the long version sent in supplemental material.  I have yet to send anything to GULC, anyone with the short email send something already?

Actually, no my score was not in that range but I have several years' of work experience and a Master's degree.  I also tailored my ps to Georgetown.  I responded to the email but I haven't submitted any supplemental info.

  • St. John's
  • Temple
  • Cardozo

Good luck to all those that are pending/waitlisted.
