Acceptances / In off of Georgetown Preferred WL!

Woo Hoo!!  Just got the email!  ;D

And I didn't send in any supplemental materials.

Unless I get into any of my reach schools it looks like it's down to these two for me.  Both schools have given me a deposit deadline of this Friday.  I'll be visiting both this week and I'm starting to get a bit stressed about the decision.   :o

Cardozo has a higher annual cost than Brooklyn ($58k vs. $50k), but their budget seems to reflect a more realistic room & board allowance than Brooklyn's.  I've been awarded slightly more merit $ at Brooklyn but I haven't received a financial aid award from either so I don't know if I'll be getting any need-based $ to help sway me.

Brooklyn's clinics and study abroad offerings make it a touch more appealing, but I am also drawn to Cardozo's strength in IP and ADR. I suppose it will come down to $ and the overall vibe I get when visiting since both schools seem to have the roughly equal employment stats and rep.

Is anyone else deciding between these two?  If so, what are your thoughts so far and what will help you decide?

Wait List / Priority WL at Georgetown
« on: April 04, 2005, 08:34:49 PM »
I"m kind of surprised as I was expecting a ding this late in the game, but I'm not complaining.

EDIT: according to the letter it's actually the Preferred Waiting List

General Off-Topic Board / UDSL spam
« on: March 30, 2005, 04:23:00 PM »
This has got to be the third or fourth unwanted email I have received from the University of Dayton School of Law in the past couple of weeks.  I've already asked to be removed from their mailing list and I'm about the block them.

They got my info from LSAC's CRS.  I'm in favor of schools using the service to inform potential applicants of their existence but I don't think it should be used to pad their email listservs.

UDSL...please stop sending me spam.

End of rant.

Studying for the LSAT / LR: Pangaea
« on: February 13, 2005, 08:02:00 PM »
Wasn't there a question that mentioned tectonic movement  causing Pangaea to break up?  It was a weaken and I selected an answer that stated that ocean activity or something would counteract the movement of the tectonic plates.

Oops..duplicate.  Sorry

Studying for the LSAT / LR: Blood clots and bypass surgery
« on: February 13, 2005, 07:55:25 PM »
The details of this one are fuzzy but I think it went like this:

There was a question that stated that women had a higher rate of blood clots than men (I'm not sure if a reason was given for that).  Then a statement that bypass surgery resulted in greater difficulty or death because of blood clots.  It was a must be true and I selected the answer that said that people should not have bypass surgery when they have blood clots.

Does anyone have a clearer recollection of this one?

Studying for the LSAT / LR: Monkeys raiding the apple orchard
« on: February 13, 2005, 07:34:55 PM »
I remembered another one.  A population of monkeys would travel far from their habitat to raid an apple orchard.  A research started making nuts or something available in their habitat.  The monkeys stopped raiding the orchard and the monkey population increased dramatically.  I think it was a must be true question.  I believe I selected the answer that said that they wouldn't raid the apple orchard if they had food in their habitat.
