Congrats!  You richly deserve it.   ;D

Law School Admissions / Re: Graduate GPA Addendum
« on: March 15, 2005, 05:18:07 PM »
I think in most cases, my grad degree in itself has been entirely irrelevant, let alone the GPA.  With the exception of Penn, I haven't really had any results that my UG numbers wouldn't have predicted.  Based on my experience, I don't think an addendum is worth it...

One of those admissions books out there probably can address this issue with much greater authority, though.

Law School Admissions / Re: Recommended readings for soon to be 1L'ers

Yeah, all of these look pretty good.  I am two chapter into Scott Turow's One L and I am enjoying it (although the movie will be hard to beat).

There's a movie 1L?  I read the's very entertaining, or at least I found it to be.

Is there a movie called the Paper Chase?

There is a movie called the Paper Chase.  I have heard that it's very disheartening.

How does the notify button work?  I hit it, but nothing ever happens...  ???

I don't think the awards that just went out have anything to do with financial need.  Mine was a merit award.  The grants (if any) will come later.

It ain't over till it's over.  And it will be over on Friday, March 18.  At least for me - that's when I'm going with I already have and making a decision.

Why March 18?

TBone, after I read your PS I remember thinking that if work-experience and writing abilities made a difference for anyone with "borderline" numbers, that it should be you.  I really thought that you would hit at one of your reach schools--I'm sorry that things didn't work out.  I can't imagine that you wouldn't get into Hastings, but clearly I'm not very good at predicting.  So, instead, I'll perpetuate the platitudes with, "keep your chin up."

I'm not hearing voices yet, so I'll keep you in my prayers.  :)

10.5k as well, damn near identical numbers to towanda (whose LSN account I've been watching like crazy)

Woah, hi there, numbers twin!  Do you think us not getting WLed at Mich today means that our rejection letters are in the mail?

I got 10.5K/yr as well.

I actually think it's sort of funny (but, granted, I have a sick sense of humor).  They're the only school I've applied to three times (ugrad, grad, and ls).  I rejected them twice, I guess you could say that this one is karma.
