I have a low LSAT (sub 150) and got into a tier 2 and two tiers 3's all in New York state. My ps was about immigrating to the US from the Phils., but I did have law related work experience, a high GPA, and good LOR's. I'm sure my being a Filipino immigrant helped though...
leolady: You know I still haven't heard from CUNY. I'm not sure what I would do if they offer me admission. It's something I have to think about...
loulie: Congrats to you too. Are you going to Syracuse? I think I'm about 75 percent sure I will matriculate.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, I didn't pursue law to make my parents happy--I actually taught under priveledged kids for a few summers and I loved the experience. I may even go back to teaching in the future, but right now, I'm set on going to law school.
As for my parents, they may take back their warm wishes when they find out that I'm interested in public interest law and will probably be making the same amount of money a teacher would.

My Dad wanted me to be an engineer. For a long time, I expressed my desire to teach which broke my parents' hearts. When they found out about law school, they were ecstatic. LOL.
