Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: IN AT SYRACUSE!

I didn't mention the LEO program in my application, but I did write an addendum about a poor history in standardized tests and talked about my academic achievements as an undergrad.  I was adopted and immigrated to the US at the age of 7 from the Philippines and have worked in an immigration law office for over 4 years (where I worked as an undergrad and continue to work presently).  My ps talked mostly about that.

Good luck on Syracuse, they definately are looking beyond the numbers!

Yay, that's awesome! Question: Did you apply directly to the LEO program, or did you just fill out the normal application and nothing more? Since you had a lower LSAT, you must have had some soft factors - what were some of them? (if you don't mind me asking.) I am excited to hear you got in, and I am waiting on a decision from Syracuse. The calculator tells me I only have around a 24 percent chance of getting in, so I don't know how likely it is. But I would be more than happy to get in through the LEO program or even a waitlist (hopefully I could work with it somehow and get myself off the waitlist.) I keep hoping I will get a chance...

Admitted through the LEO program, so I start a month earlier than everyone else.  I take a legal methodology and legal writing class with individualized tutoring from Aug. 1 to Aug. 22, no tuition or housing fee.

Letter was dated 04/18 and I received it yesterday.

Sub-150 lsat, 3.7 gpa

I know, I can hardly believe it myself!

Congratulations!  I'm so happy for you!

I hope to hear from them soon.

When did you apply, if you don't mind my asking.

I applied towards the end of January.

Congrats again.

The wait is killing me.

I'm not sure what kind of a chance I have (low LSAT, but still).

Thanks.  Good luck on your program too.  It's nice that you can go to actual classes.

I've accepted the fact that the AAMPLE program is it for me, but I still really hope to hear from the other schools.  I highly doubt admission since my LSATs are so low.

Well, good luck to us!

I'm waiting to hear from them too.  I applied around the end of January.

I got the TAP application and was confused because I thought that was only for NY residents (I live in NJ), but it seems to me I have to fill it out too.  Right?

Good luck to you all.

The NYLS AAMPLE is also online.  I think it's the very same program at Albany--even the classes with Nova are the same(Criminal Procedures and Negotiable Instruments) .  I'm a little nervous about the classes online.  I think I would be a lot more comfortable if they were actual classes, but oh well.

I'm still waiting on Syracuse and Rutgers-Newark.  I'm surprised I haven't gotten my rejections letters from them yet.  They probably send them all out in bunches.

Good luck with the Albany AAMPLE too.  I've read that you are also waitlisted at a few other places, so maybe those will work out for you. We should keep in touch since we are doing the same AAMPLE program.

I chose NYLS because I currently work in NYC and I live in NJ about a half hour away from the city.  So it will be cheaper for me since I wouldn't have to relocate and I might still keep my job at the law office (admission after AAMPLE at NYLS is only for the part-time program).  Also, I like the public interest program at NYLS because I'm thinking about going into immigration law.

If CUNY accepts me, I might go there instead, but I'm still not sure and I'm not looking forward to anymore accepts.

Have you decided to do Albany's ample or go to Vermont?

Got my rejection letter yesterday.

It will probably be NYLS AAMPLE for me (which I chose over Albany's AAMPLE) since I  don't have any other accepts, nor have I heard from other schools.

Sucks, I was hoping to get a full admission somewhere.

You and I are in the same boat--I'm in a similar program for New York Law School.

At least we have a chance at law school, huh?
