Where should I go next fall? / Re: W&M

I just go through as well.  All decisions were mailed Tuesday.  I feel nauseous.

I just received a waitlist letter yesterday, my third, and probably not my last.  I too got their answering machine many times when trying to call earlier in the process.  That coupled with my visit has left a sour taste.  I dunno, I've been such a huge fan of W&M up until this process.

Are you in-state?

Where should I go next fall? / W&M

I've been trying to call for the last few days and haven't been able to get anything other than an answering machine.  Curious when letters are being mailed since admit weekend is a week from tomorrow.  Does anyone know if letters are in the mail?

I visited and absolutely loved W&M.  Dean Shealy came in on a Saturday morning to meet with me and then gave me a tour herself of the building.  While the facilities aren't the absolute best I've seen, I liked the small sections and Courtroom 21 is amazing.  Construction on a new library is starting this Spring and should be completed within a year.  Also, the legal skills program really stands out from other schools.  All of the students I spoke to were excited to be there and described a real community feeling within their class that I didn't find at many other schools.  Now, if only I could get in  :-\

Acceptances / Re: UNC, what the hell.

75% of their applicant pool is from out-of-state but only 25% of their incoming class is.  Not great odds for any of us, but now isn't the time to lose hope.  10 more days!

Birdy -- still no word?

What's your latest?

still no word.  losing my mind.  visited emory and liked it but wasn't sold.  loved wake but hated the winston-salem area.  still waiting to hear from W&M and UNC (expecting W&M first).  If I don't get into either I guess it's going to be a GW/Emory decision but I just hope that isn't the case...

I'm sure as everyone who has had to listen to me rant about my terrible UNC experiences thus far would tell you, I completely understand where you're coming from.  Based on my visit last week my advice would be to not make the trip until you know.  Even if your letter has an April 1st seat deadline (which it shouldn't if it's sent this week - they're supposedly pushing the deadline back to the 15th for the rest of this cycle), you can call and explain that you're still waiting for other schools, etc. and get an extension until the 15th.
