I just got my tuition bill/financial aid letter for C-M.  There was a 16% rise in tuition from last academic year to this academic year.  Is that kind of rise same as/more than/less than at other law schools?  I just want to anticipate paying 45-or-so% more than I expected over three years.

I don't know if I would be able to function there.  I don't know how I would do learning the law with supplementation from "great Catholic thinkers".  Also -- and not to be offensive I completely respect the religious beliefs and practices of others – but the robes and capes and caps scare me a bit and I get profoundly sad when I see Jesus hanging  and bleeding on the cross.  Are there any other “non-Catholics” who are/are not considering Ave Maria?

Good Luck Lane!

Are you going to attend?

No, as of now I'm going to go to Cleveland-Marshall.  There is no way I can/will get Ave Maria $500 in the next few days.  But I must say less than 30 day turn around was nice.

Just thought I'd pass on the information in case you hadn't heard.

In a May 2, 2005 letter from Ave Maria's Michael O. Kenney (Associate Dean for External Affairs)

I am pleased to inform you that the Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association voted to recommend full accreditation for Ave Maria School of Law.  The matter now moves to the Council of the ABA Section of Legal Education, which has the authority to make the decision.  The Council will consider the Accreditation Committee’s favorable recommendation at the June 17, 2005 meeting.  The Council's decision will then be presented to the ABA House of Delegates at the ABA's annual meeting in August for ratification.

I was requested to interview.  In the meeting I was told that I was sorta kinds waitlisted.  I was told that they "...didn't know if they would be able to let me know this Thursday..."  I told them that my waiting window was REALLY small.  Then I was told that they would let me now immediately on Thursday if they were able to move on my file.

Plus, I got that they were past due making decisions on people who went complete after February 1 (even if there app was in by then).  Now, I am nothing special, so I think that they will be reviewing most waitlisters/late completes this Thursday.

I got a waitlist update letter from GMU today.  They want to know if I've made other plans or am still interested.  I also see that they sent out a bunch of rejections.  Anybody else either way?

Got the same thing.  I'm also a URM and I have pretty shabby numbers.  There was no fee waiver in mine... the way I see it a law school is never going to tell me it's too late to give them $65.00.  If I'm not worth reviewing for free do they REALLY want people like me?

Simple solution: Blacks shouldn't be allowed to go to law school b/c they never pass the bar anyway.

Sweetie, I think ya forgot the to add the "hole" right before "one" in your name.

Others... I ended up writing exactly what I was thinking and my relatives said thay have a new found understanding of and respect for the person I am.  They never knew the activist side of me so I think it was refreshing for them to hear... let alone for me to say!

-=Thanks all=-
