It comes later in a Financial Aid Award letter. Mine, unfortunately, listed only loans. I got it yesterday and I am from Orange County so the rest of you should be getting it soon. *sigh* Looks like I am just going to have to settle for less traffic and better weather at USD ;)

yeah its an interesting case, im just surprised. So i guess the classes that we sit in on are just for the admitted students? I wonder if we are gonna get an early crash course on the Socratic method

Yeah they said we'll sit in on two simulated classes so I am guessing it'll just be us admitted students.

Yeah, im wondering about the market and job opportunuites as well. Mahnoneit, have u looked at the USD page in the specific school section. A few posters shed a little light on this. hey anyone else going to the admit day on Monday? I just got an email from USD with my homework for the simulated class that day. Wow, i knew they satrted you off fast in law school but I didnt think there would be case reading before admit day

I got that too. It was in my junk mail box so I almost missed it. Cardozo is doing the same thing for their admit day.

Well, being one of those who were ridiculously offered a scholarship, I am withdrawing today and I wish those who are waiting the best of luck!

Updated to this point :)

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: AMERICAN???

Hey all, does anyone know how American notifies? I've heard that they send e-mails as well as letters, but thus far no phone calls from them --- any stories?

I got a package in the mail. No e-mail or phone call. Check the sticky-thread for notification methods.

What did this bluntly honest career services person say? It doesn't sound like it was all positive stuff.

Just that if you want to work outside the L.A./Southern California/California area, Loyola is probably not your best bet for easy job placement. You'll have to do a lot of your own legwork although they have alumni in every state.

TBone - I went on a student tour, but even though I put my foot in my mouth a few times with Sonel, he was EXTREMELY friendly, open, honest and personable. I think you will like him. He has lots to say about the school and you can tell he is very proud of it. He is not QUITE as bluntly honest as the Dean of Career Services because of course he is trying to recruit as many students as possible, but he answered any questions I had without hesitation. Did you sign up for a student hosted tour?

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Can anyone top my 8 waitlists?
« on: March 30, 2005, 03:44:21 PM »
1st of all I don't believe you. If you are on eight wait lists you definitely applied to close to 20 schools.

2ndly, I am not bitter - just telling you that you being on 8 wait lists is clearly self induced.

Lastly, I wish you the best even though you clearly over applied to schools.

Clearly they did NOT overapply since those are 8 decisions which are up in the air. Over applying would be people with way more acceptances than they need (like me). They were probably right to apply to that many since obviously none of those 8 apps was a sure bet.

I am someone who overapplied and I am not ashamed of it and don't care what you think of it but I don't see how 8 waitlists implies applying to too many.

nosohceht - I see what you are saying and I sent in deposits for both schools already so I bought myself some extra time to negotiate. I just meant if in the end they can't offer me more than loans, I will gladly go to San Diego for law school.

danno - I haven't called. I am not big on making calls to schools. I will be sending out a letter today pleading my case, but I am not going to be too pushy unless I have to.
