This is what I remember after perusing this board for three days. Feel free to correct.
1) Monks - non-representative sample
3) River, dioxin, fish - debatable
4) Lawnmower - electric mower causes less pollution than car for one hour
5) Art, intrinstic/extrinsic - extrinsic value can be judged objectively
6) Employees fired by supervisor - only supervisors can decide rules for firing
7) Art, democratic gove - democratic governments
8) Computers, installation of accessories - systems come with accessories installed
9) Cig logos and nine-year-olds - dolphins or exercising men
12) polished spears, caveman - spear could be used for chores
13) meteor hits earth every 100,000 years - erroneously used average as prediction
16) "as they say" with ski trip, "what ends well" - self-explanatory
17) uv rays and caveman - cavemen had genes that were more resistent
18) art works stolen, wealthy people want expensive ones - wealthy investors want valuable art/wealthy investors might want art that is not valuable
19) mice/rats bladder - mice are more able to resist toxin (i think)
23) tuition not resolved with teacher salary increase - self-explanatory
25) parallel majority of under-20 watching tv and 4th graders who watch TV - self-explanatory
26) farms affect other industry - self-explanatory
28) jazz music not profitable - no songs not played on the radio are profitable
29) Municipalities adding new staff - taxpayers don't pay taxes for one year
33) Nylon as natural - if something is made of natural things it is natural
34) Bridges - cable bridge is more aesthetic than concrete skyway
35) Authors die and their text - authors are initially harsh in judging their work and may revise later
36) Speed Bumps - assumption was that people can't use roads with speed bumps
39) Scientists Experiment on Kids - they don't know if drug will effect in long term
40) Meteor Extinction - if something always follows something (sorry i forgot this one)
41) Appropriate Speech and Ediquitte - name-calling stopped by moderator of a panel
42) News Reporting vs. ananomous Letter - analagous situation, debateable
43) Hurting animals at the zoo - might be the parallel situation with voters in a city

It is in California and it is not in L.A. However, it would be hard for me to say it is my Top Choice, but it's up there!
Is it hopeless? Are there any schools you recommend I apply to? If I don't get into a top 100 school, I'd like to stay in California.
