Studying for the LSAT / Re: 42 LR Questions and 9 more needed

Ps- i was looking at other posts and someone mentioned "polished spears"- perhaps these were spears, although i thought they were tools.  anyhow, i am confident that everyone is confusing them into being one question. what say you?

Ok, for the scratched unscratched question (and i didnt have LR exp., i had RC) it was about some kind of tool found in an archaological site of ancient peoples...  If it was scratched then it was used for threshing, or some other kind of farming chore.  They said something about one being found scratched in a specific area, and another being found unscratched somewhere else. Since it was unscratched, they said it wasnt used or that the people didnt know how to thresh... We were supposed to challenge them, and I THINK the answer had something to do with other uses, ie, they used it for something else as WELL as for whatever gave the other ones scratches... (contrary to the stone question).  I SWEAR it is a separate question from the Polished stones showing that cavemen were artistic.  I think that everyone is combining the two because as far as their subject matter goes, they could be seen as similar.  But i think we should separate them and add them to the list.

OK as you can see... I was not insanely helpful, but at least i got this going.  I think i would remember the answers and questions more if these werent so trite most of the time (no offense to the original writer).  But if we can figure these out, maybe elaborate on the answers and questions, and generally just pull together with some teamwork...  we can figure out how we did a little bit earlier (through guessing, yes, but nonetheless..)

everyone, try to update one question apiece.
we WILL get this:)

Studying for the LSAT / Polished stones...
« on: December 14, 2004, 08:07:47 PM »
Does anyone remember a quesiton that might have been a weaken?  soemthing about how polished stones prove that cavemen had aesthetic sensibilities?  I put remember i did something involving the stones as a religious article becuase i thought that if it was religious it would negate the aesthetics...

my brain is melting...

any ideas?

or am i completely not talking about a question?

What about the question talking about polished stones and cavemen having aesthetic taste...
do you remember that?  I think it was a weaken and i remember i chose that the polished stones were used for religion, cuz then it would negate art...

was that right?  am i on crack?

Studying for the LSAT / Re: 9 YEAR OLD CIGARETEE LOVERS
« on: December 05, 2004, 03:44:46 PM »
it was definitely the dolphn one.  Because wasnt it where you had to compare the flawed reasoning?  with the dolphins, scientists were doing a study of the LONG TERM effects on dolphins and it said something about how after three months nothing affected them, so therefore the poison didnt affect them altogether... but since they concluded that less than 1% of kids smoked because of the ads, i figured that both of them came to conclusions prematurely, because the 9 year olds COULD smoke in the future, just like the dolphins could end up showing reactions in the future...

does that sound about right or did i misinterpret the question?
