I make more than 50K, and I am so unhappy with my job (pharma sales) that I want to poke my eyes out!  Even if I don't "break even" right out of school, I think that I will be happier in the long run.

I got a letter yesterday offering a full academic scholarship (renewable for 2L and 3L if w/in top 50% of class).  I was blown away.  That makes the school much more attractive! ;D

I used to work at a country club (started caddying when I was 11 and worked summers until I was 21).  I would see people with cars that cost $80 k (BMW 7-series and such).  I did a lot of thinking about how much was too much.  And even though everybody does it, I think it's immoral to have a car that costs that much.

Not a choice you'd make, but IMMORAL?  I plan to drive a range rover when I become successful.  I give back to charity, and to my church, but I don't think driving a luxury car that makes you happy is something immoral.  Just because there are poverty stricken  countries and such, I am not going to downsize my life, or make sacrifices.  I will earn my money...working LONG hours after 3 years of law school.

We all make choices in life.  When I see someone driving a Ferarri, I think, "Wow, they paid too much for that car." But, I don't judge their morality.

Hey, I appreciate the offer to help.  If you had to recommend a day to come to observe, what day would it be?  What classes?  Profs?

Joe Campion listed a bunch of profs, but from a student's perspective...

I have similar numbers, so hopefully I'll
1. hear of acceptance soon, and
2. get your $ if you don't take it!

How long after the acceptance did that come?

1. this board is a runaway train

2. i have like 4 different i can't stalk them  :( and i think they have some sort of problem with me, so i hope they don't pull any mean tricks.  i almost had my mail held for a while (to pick it up at the p.o.) until all acceptances/rejections came, but i thought that was a tad psycho and decided to take my chances.

3. never had pneumonia, but i always enjoy some nyquil when i'm sick...sure you've tried it, and prob. have written about it, but i didn't read all of the above

gosh I really hope so!

I didn't apply last year (when I was a senior in college) because I seriously wasn't able to face the stress, so I convinced myself that I didn't REALLY want to be a lawyer (which is ridiculous since this is what I wanted to do since the 4th grade) and got a job.

thanks for the prompt replies, its good to know that everyone else is stressing too.  (misery  loves company, hence the success of this website)

and when the mantra fails, there's always xanax!

You bet 'cha!  Gotta love fries on the salad.  That's why all of the morbidly obese diabetic hypertensives live here!  My drugs fly off of the shelves at the doc's office!

I think that site is misleading.

My (attempt at being stress-free) mantra is,
"control that which you can control.  Worrying isn't going to make the acceptances pour in any faster."

Though my anxiety level is pretty high too...but it's good anxiety.  Don't look at that site anymore, because it only takes two factors into account.  Remember, you have LORs, your PS, any WE...
