Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Pitt Scholarship
« on: January 12, 2005, 01:24:39 PM »
I have similar numbers, so hopefully I'll
1. hear of acceptance soon, and
2. get your $ if you don't take it!

How long after the acceptance did that come?

1. this board is a runaway train

2. i have like 4 different i can't stalk them  :( and i think they have some sort of problem with me, so i hope they don't pull any mean tricks.  i almost had my mail held for a while (to pick it up at the p.o.) until all acceptances/rejections came, but i thought that was a tad psycho and decided to take my chances.

3. never had pneumonia, but i always enjoy some nyquil when i'm sick...sure you've tried it, and prob. have written about it, but i didn't read all of the above

Law School Admissions / Re: Seriously Stressing
« on: January 10, 2005, 04:06:26 PM »
gosh I really hope so!

I didn't apply last year (when I was a senior in college) because I seriously wasn't able to face the stress, so I convinced myself that I didn't REALLY want to be a lawyer (which is ridiculous since this is what I wanted to do since the 4th grade) and got a job.

thanks for the prompt replies, its good to know that everyone else is stressing too.  (misery  loves company, hence the success of this website)

and when the mantra fails, there's always xanax!

You bet 'cha!  Gotta love fries on the salad.  That's why all of the morbidly obese diabetic hypertensives live here!  My drugs fly off of the shelves at the doc's office!

I think that site is misleading.

My (attempt at being stress-free) mantra is,
"control that which you can control.  Worrying isn't going to make the acceptances pour in any faster."

Though my anxiety level is pretty high too...but it's good anxiety.  Don't look at that site anymore, because it only takes two factors into account.  Remember, you have LORs, your PS, any WE...

Law School Admissions / Re: Dec Test Takers: Any fee waivers yet?
« on: January 10, 2005, 02:55:23 PM »
Today I received (snail mail) U. of Buffalo, U. of Wisconsin (although I didn't actually open that one), Wash. and Lee, and Ind. U. B. Received an email from U. of Akron with fee waiver and a thing letting me know that 100% of the people with my stats who applied received full tuition or more scholarships to try to entice me. It didn't.

Haha, I got the Akron one too.  Sounds like they're begging for apps!  Even with 100% tuition I wouldn't go there...AKRON is the most boring place.  The only thing to do there is to pack up your stuff and get the f*ck out!

So why care anymore, holdin out for better schools?

No, crossing my fingers though.  I've only been accepted to one school so far...duquesne...

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: in at Duquesne
« on: January 10, 2005, 02:42:39 PM »
Why Duquesne?  I looked, and looked, and looked, but I just couldn't.  I just couldn't dig it.

It's 3rd tier.  Very nice reputation in the 'burgh.  Very nice staff.  The deans actually teach the class, and on a visit I met many of them.  Everyone was very nice, and it was at the beginning of finals!

My numbers/dates/etc are at username xpsupiphi
