Studying and Exam Taking / Which Subject to Screw
« on: December 06, 2005, 09:18:41 PM »
Ok so considering (probably bad choice of word after a contracts exam) that torts, civ pro, and property are all only worth 2 credits this semester and the midterm accounts for 25% of the grade, which class should get screwed in study time for Criminal Law which is 3 credit and 100% of the grade.

I am thinking civ pro because it seems the easiest and probably the exam everyone will be bunched together in the curve.

Suffolk / Bad Library Etiquette at Suffolk
« on: December 05, 2005, 12:48:48 AM »

So some girl actually had 3 calls while in the quiet room, and in all those conversations she started talking on the phone when she was 10ft. from the door.
Why couldn't she wait til she walked 10 more times and went out. That's bad etiquetter but it oddly gives a place for that exam frustration to go.

Suffolk / Anyone have Ferrey

Anyone have Ferrey for Contracts
He is pretty tough in class but says he is not looking to fail people on the midterm.
He's a smart man that I think has some issues with clear communication because he is too smart.

Anyone have Ferrey and know if prefers UCC questions over Common Law?

(Please Excuse any typos many many hours of hypos and exam questions have taken its toll)

General Board / Re: Mirror Image Rule
« on: November 14, 2005, 07:47:39 PM »
Here is my attempt in trying to answer the 2 questions - Please let me know if I'm right or wrong.

1)Give an example of an area in which Mirror Image rule does not apply?
My answer: UCC 2-207 --> Am I right?

2)Give 2 examples of how its use has been modified.
My answer: definite and seasonal expression of acceptance --> is an acceptance even if it states additional of diff terms. I can't think of another example??

Or am I way off in answering these questions?

2-207 Is correct

Would the new electronic commerce be a modification

General Board / Re: Journalism after JD

You shouldn't give up on journalism just because of all the disheartening info on the low salary. You can always work as a lawyer for a couple of years and make your money and pay off loans and then become a lowering paying journalist. You could even work at a firm and try to earn some credentials writing articles for a small paper or magazine in your spare time (which will probably be very brief). Also, think about it this way if all you need is 5-6 years of experience to break into the big papers, that's only 5-6 crappy years for 30 great years.

Time to get back to reading some wonderful Contracts and the intricacies of ambigous contracts

Does anyone have any tips on trying to get an internship in D.C.

Law School Applications / Re: Summers as an Undergrad
« on: February 06, 2006, 08:19:01 AM »
If you're going straight from undergrad to law school your summers mean little. As has already been said definitely no necessary to get a law related job.
You could start studying for the lsat, or start saving up for application fees.
It would be good to do something in the summer than you can write about in your personal statement.
But I say sit back and enjoy the days of having nothing to do. Waking up and having nothing planned in your daily planner for that day seems like heaven to me now

I've heard nice things about somerville and it's towards the top of my list now. Great info about kenmore square (that definitely what i meant not kenwood). I passed by some apartments on kenmore square when i was going to a red sox game a couple of weeks ago and they reminded me of ny brownstones. But i can definitely see where it would get annoyed with all the undergrads around. It would probably make me succumb to the hardcore partying that i already miss after two weeks of now being a college graduate.
Is it it a nice community feeling in somerville. I just graduated so i still kinda wanna be around that young laid back and community atmosphere.
