Where should I go next fall? / Re: $$$$ at Ohio State

What are you planning to do Murky?

Ohio State is my first choice as well, so now I have to make some tough calls as to whether or not I want to take on that much debt.  In the long run I think it will be worth it, but they aren't making it easy on me.  Somebody needs to start milking that cash cow at OSU.

I'm in Provo. I received it snail mail. I was hoping that I would get the in-state tuition scholarship, but I've heard Ohio State is more selective this year so I assume the competition for money is rather stiff.

By the way, it seems that OSU loves BYU grads. :)

Well now that I've extracted all the valuable information I need from you, I'll sound off. GO UTES!!

LOL!

Dell has some pretty good deals happening right now.  I just can't decide between a Dell and an IBM.

When did your scholarship come? Did it come with your acceptance, or later? If later, how much later? Can you post your numbers? These details really help out the rest of us. Thanks.

161/3.5 (You can see my numbers by clicking on the link in my footprint).  The scholarship offer came 2 weeks after the phone call.

Are you out of state? I thought OSU was wayyyyy cheaper than that (one of the reasons I applied...)

I am out-of-state, technically (see above).

There are some other scholarships available; however, you have to write an essay for them and they cap out at $3,000.  I am especially upset because they don't consider me a resident even though I was born and raised in Columbus.  I only left the state to go to BYU.  Anyway, I called the Financial Aid Office today and they encouraged me to have my wife work so that I automatically qualify as an in-state resident.

So Ohio State offered me $3500 a year.
Hey thanks a lot OSU.  Now tuition is only $21,500.

My status went from "Complete" to "Referred" to "Decision".  I don't know what "Evaluation" means.  It's better than "Decision" with no phone call.
