Back from the Valley, and I had a good time  ;D

Swimming in South Padre, fireworks over the Laguna Madre, cheap booze and (smuggled) cuban cigars from Mexico, beer by the pool, toured a few small town Texas courthouses on the way home (I'll post pics of the one in Goliad, its pretty cool), and yes, even a visit to Shiner TX for a tour of the beer factory  ;D Good times.......good times......

Anyway, just wanted to gloat a little, I'm sure the Shiner visit will irk Brian to no end..... :)

Okay, another good update........

I'd recommend joining the Student Red Raider Club. It's $25 per year which goes towards the athletic department, and you can sign up for it on Techsis, so the 25 bucks would just be added to your tuition/fees for the Fall semester.

Anyway, the reason I recommend doing it is you can easily earn back the 25 bucks spent if not more by using the card across town at restaraunts/businesses who give you discounts for having a "SRRC Club" card........

Snoop around the website and see if its something you'd be interested in;

Amber and fellow golfers especially, with the card you get 20% golf club repairs at Golf USA, two FREE green fees to Meadowbrook Golf Course, and (I'm assuming) unlimited FREE greens fees at Stonegate Golf Course w/ cart rental. So basically every round played there would be 13 bucks.......

Plus places like Rosa's, Quizno's, and a couple coffee shops give discounts too...

And we get priority for postseason tickets, i.e. bowl game tickets, basketball tourney tickets, etc....

Needless to say, I've already signed up  ;D

Hey Aron, are these student reviews posted online?

I'd be curious to see how my professors fared.

I'm Section 4 w/ Rob, we even have the same Legal Practice class.......

On the detailed schedule chart on techsis, beside the course number is your section number, so like for me it read;

Law 5402-004
Law 5404-004
Law 5405-004
Law 5306-041

So there's four sections of most likely sixty students each for the main courses we take, and three seperate classes of "Legal Practice" for each different section (approx twenty in each I would assume). This is where the "041" comes into play on my schedule.

So once everyone figures out which section be sure to let everyone else know...

Section 4 is obviously the best though  ;D

I'd be willing to meet just about anywhere, and glad neither of you live way up in Collin County ::)

The Hooters off I-30 and Collins St. would be a fairly central location for all three of us,   or we could always just go to a Rangers game......

Anyway, we can plan a little better after the 4th of July holiday......I think I might be out of town for a few days.

Who else is living in DFW right now?

I know a few alums and they say basically the same thing about the girls at Tech. I know a few from my high school years who are out in Lubbock that I wouldn't mind catching up with,  ;)

Were the undergrads you ran into from the Mid Cities Aron? Most of the students I know at Tech that seem to loathe Lubbock hail from the Metroplex, which is surprising because students from DFW prolly make up half of Tech's enrollment. I think most alums over time begin to miss Lubbock least to an extent.

Oh, and are we still gonna do the DFW area get-together before we all head to Lubbock?

Here's a good link to some quality campus pics of Texas Tech if you've got time and feel like checking them out. Lubbock may be flat, but Tech has gone along way in adding a little charm and beauty to the dull surroundings.

They'd go along way in dispelling the notion of everything in Lubbock as being ugly like many other Texans on this board would lead prospective applicants to believe, thats for sure.......

it's always weird though - you feel worse about a loss than you feel good about a victory...

BTW - with the retirement of Bradley, the Mavs may have a real chance next year!

I totally feel the same way......thoughy typically college football causes this phenomenon more than any other sport......

Oh, and they're also talking about ditching Finley and his huge contract too.  ::) Granted he's not the same player he was at a younger age, but Finley was in town during the rough years and toughed it out so he deserves better. If Cubanm hadn't given him such an absurdly high contract then they wouldnt have to shed money (the reasoning behind releasing Finley). And we won't even talk about Bradleys contract.....  >:(

Oh, on another note, I'm taking one last "enjoy my freedome while it lasted" trip before law school starts. I'm flying up to NYC to spend a week with my friend/roommate I met at Tulane. Mioght haveta check out a Yankees and Mets game while I'm up there and see a few of the sights............I'm already excited  ;D ;D ;D ;D!!!!
