General Off-Topic Board / Re: My friend is cheating on his wife.

Another unusual thing is that his wife is the bread earner. Poor woman works damn hard as an upper-mid level HR manager. My friend has a job, but it doesn't pay well.

Maybe she makes him feel like a small worthless prick.

jsia

It could be true.  But he doesn't have to cheat on her!

If it's so bad you have to cheat, you should leave. I don't blame you for reconsidering being friends with him. Have you confronted him on his behaviour? Maybe that's the first step.

Good music, car dancing, making friends with truckers. That's what I did on my 3 day drive to Houston. The last leg was 11 hours or so from El Paso.  :-\ One trucker even had a baby chihuahua that I got to play with. You could also try to hit on girls from the car. Keep track of your score and post here.  ;)

hmmm friends with truckers huh scurvy?  What does the hubby think of this?  ;)

He thought the pictures were hilarious! :)

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Whittier LS on Probation by ABA

Western State was in a similar situation, and now has their probationary status back (after suing).

Western State was never fully accredited. They lost their provisional accreditation and sued to get it back. Potentially losing full accreditation is a much bigger deal.

Hey, looks like Scurvy and I might be driving up this weekend!

Yep! Roadtrip baby! The only problem is I need a place to stay. I'm going up for a Blues workshop and I haven't been able to get ahold of my dancer friend that lives there. . . Whatever, Anastasia and I will rock the town anyway. ;)

Apparently, there's a list of things that the ABA wants to see a school maintaining or making progress on and Whittier hasn't been meeting the criteria. They've been given two years to shape up. With the ABA, it's very nebulous so you don't really know what they're going to decide of your fate.

This doesn't necessarily mean bad things for Whittier students. With accreditaion at risk, Whittier will have to do a lot more for its 1Ls and make big strides and improvements. Until the final call is in from the ABA, I think Whittier students will have a far better experience than they would have in the past.

FYI

Two days ago, Whittier Law School was put on probation by the ABA. I'm not exactly sure I know what this means, but I'd certainly look into it if Whittier's one of your serious choices.

(I'm sad to report this, because at one point, I really liked the school.)

hey!

well the dean of admissions from Howard called today while I was at work. So i'm hoping its good news! I'll have to call him back in the morniing and see. Keep your fingers crossed!

I havent registered for Testmasters yet, i needed to wait until i found a new job, since the classes are offered in the evening and I currently work evening shift. But not hopefully it won't come to any of that.

Well at least they seem to be pretty flexible at your paralegal school. So you havent registered yet?

Good luck with your schools! Hopefully with it getting pretty close to mid-august you're hear something soon.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! I'm so glad I checked back here. So was it good news? Please tell us! Cam, I'm so excited.  I hope this works out. Keep me posted and good luck!
