Incoming 1Ls / Outlines?!?
« on: November 26, 2004, 11:41:04 AM »
Ok, I know this may be looking a little far ahead, but I would love to know anything there is to know about outlines.  I have seen many people post how they are having such a hard time getting outlines done and was wondering if this was something taught or if this was something you had to figure out on your own.  I will be starting at Baylor in the spring, but anyone who has info please let me know.

Thanks, and yes, a little apprehension on my part sparked this question!  ???

I have a Siberian Husky that I am taking down to Waco with me...if he was still a puppy I would probably not take him, but he is over two years now so hopefully it will not be too bad for him.

That's not too bad...after living in Dallas that will seem like walking distance!

I'll be at Baylor in the spring, and as a Waco native I second pretty much everything that midjeep says.  To the coffee shop list, I add the soon-to-open Beatnix, which will have free WiFi, a "quiet room" meant for reading and studying, excellent coffee, and a nifty "beat generation" atmosphere.  Disclaimer: my wife is half owner/operator, so I'm biased ;D

Where is this new place going to be?  Definitely sounds like a nice place to study.  This may be a really stupid questions, but what is WiFi?

Yep, those same exact songs...the Grobin song grew on me too.  Kind of scary cause I normally hate those types of songs.

As far as medication is concerned, my voice teacher (who was more of a vocal scientist) always told me to use anything that has Guifenisen (sp.?, phoenetically-gwaifenisun)...it drains the sinuses but does not dry you out.

I am a reformed opera singer as well!!!  I am singing the Lord's Prayer in B-flat and singing "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban in A-flat.  I have also had a few drinks tonight and found that that helps one's voice a bit as well :).  I am terrified about Saturday, so I will do all of the aforementioned voice tricks...thanks so much!

Also, does anyone know where to get Throat Coat?

I sang those two songs for a friend's wedding this past August.  Not easy to sing when you are not feeling good, but I am sure you know that!  Good luck!
